"Always trust in the Malik, the Malik is good, the Malik is wise"
Probably for the same reason you asked this one..What was your reason again?
:>) just part of the game.

Honestly, sometimes to debate and sometimes I already know the answer but I ask it not as a cheap shot but to get the other side to think. That's how I have reached many of my best bottom lines. Because someone made a better point than I did and I had to think about that. But I never ask to get people to agree with me. That's an unstable view that needs people to agree with it. Good question and good points you made.

Well, I guess you should define "cheap shot." My views on religion would get me executed in the Dark Ages and today many would see them as insulting and maybe a cheap shot. But they are just my views.
I'm always up for an honest debate but rarely find anyone who considers himself religious able to actually handle it. It always winds up as being me attacking them personally even though it's not the person I'm talking about.
Religion is just too personal an issue to expect honest, open debate on the topic.

Hi Malik, unfortunately, it seems that some people have nothing better to do with their time than to try to discredit Christianity, God, Jesus, The Bible or anyone who believes in any of those. I think its sad, but unfortunately, even the ignorant have an opinion and have the right to share it.
That being said, when I ask a question, it could be to see what other Christians are thinking, or because I legitimately need an answer to a question.

The reason people ask questions in dealing with religion because they want to find out if their beliefs are real or just lore and heresay. Also, people try to learn about other religions and compare them to their own.

Because apparently many people find it fun to heckle and annoy.
The real divide here isn't between those who follow a certain faith and those who don't.
In truth - its the ones who are searching for answers to questions and the ones who just want to snipe/enrage/waste breathe shouting down the other person.

I agree. It seems like people that fall into the third category just don't have anything worthwhile or intellectual to ask. Maybe they just can't help it.

peace be upon you
i ask questions sometimes to clear my point of view about something .
Or to correct a certain idea,
i think ,we don't ask as we want to know an answer.
but ,we may find here something by coincidence.
Here also , if you are not sure about something , you can find who can create all doubt inside you.

TO WINDOM EARLE..,.Why take shots at anyone. leave people alone to have their own beliefs and stick to your own. Religion is a very private and serious thing for some people and if they ask for advice, they don't need snide remarks from uncaring people like you.
Sometimes when people need advice they put it in the R& S section because they THINK they will get honest serious people who will give their advice.
