Every time I try to print a file in MS Word, it first saves the file as a pdf, and then it DOESN'T print anything! What the H$LL??? How do I restore MS Word settings to DEFAULT?

Go to file/print and change what your printing to. Click of the checkbox that says print to file.

change the default printer will do the trick. Go to printer, right-click on the printer you want to use and select as default printer.
