It seems that they dont think they will find her.
The spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "In theory, they could technically be arguidos right up until the first anniversary of Madeleine going missing. We are prepared for that if necessary. We hope not. We are pushing to have this arguido status lifted immediately."

And instead of saying: we have to find her before Christmas or before the first anniversary they say we have to get our names clean!!!

HAHAHA! some people here take comments against the Mccanns very personal. (Toietmoi) I don´t know if they would do the same for you.

and what is your point with this...
"Anniversary-The annually recurring date of a past event of personal importance (That is proper English)"
I know the meaning of the word. For your information, in case that you are judging me for any mistake that I could have made, English is no my mother tongue.

Yeah of the disappearance, but would they be more optimistic, I wouldnt think about an anniversary specially with all the media campaign you´ll be hopeful to find her sooner than that.

is that all they're worried about at the moment? trying to get rid of the arguido status? i think there are more important things to address like trying to find little Maddie!

Yes very strange. How does Mitchell know that Maddy might not be found tomorrow,or the next day or the next. What makes him say that they could be arguidos until the anniversary? Just what does this man know ? Why was he in Portugal posing in a photo with the McCanns the day after Maddy went missing ? Was he perhaps another one of the Tapas group ,after all he is a "family friend" ?

Anniversary-The annually recurring date of a past event of personal importance (That is proper English)
The news was about "The Arguido" status. Besides "We have to find her before Xmas" is just Mumbling... does not make any sense.
"The Arguido" status is actually hindering the search- As they believe that publicity and interviews are the best way to find Madeleine (That is the advice given by the American experts). Whether you agree with it or not is up to you, but you should remember you are not an expert.

I would have thought that they would be pushing for Madeleine to be found, not to have their suspect status lifted. Mind you, their number one priority is themselves, and that hasn't changed since May 3, when they went out and deliberately left those children alone.

I am as puzzled as you Madeleine has been missing for, five months so her anniversary, has still got seven months to go.so maybe they think that they will still be arguidos until then if Madeleine hasn't been found.

I don't really get the whole thing. I was named as a suspect in a murder case before but I didn't bother hiring a legal team as I didn't do it and knew that I wouldn't be charged as long as I answered the questions truthfully. Anyone who hires a top legal team before even being charged seems a little weird to me.
