What would it be or sound like or what kind of lyrics would it have?
I was watching a commercial last night. One of those Christian inspirational albums with everything from Christian rock to Christian jazz and so on, all on one album and it got me to thinking..
Christians really have a great ad campaign and really have everything they need to keep the "faith" including their own brand of music.Sure, Atheists have science books, rationality, and often times a higher IQ.But, what about music to inspire free thought that is void of deities and magical tales of miracles and winged men who float in the clouds?Where are the Atheist commercials that send a message of peace and love through simple humanity?

We can listen to any kind of music - I even like some christian rock.
Don't forget atheism is merely an absense of belief - not a different set of rules - any music that doesn't sound preachy and rubbish is fair game.
Off the top of my head - Regina Spektor.
*Goethe is such a git. No atheist would listen to Streisand - it would be... a sin!*

There's been a LOT of music that's about love, and peace, and justice, and simple humanity.
It's not labeled "atheist" music; it's just whatever genre it is.
A lot of the music I grew up on was "inspirational" (in a non-religious sense). Though some is "magical" in some senses, or fantasy-based.
What you mean by "atheist commercials" I don't get.
We're not selling anything; we're not an organization.
We just don't believe in any gods.

I find this incredibly inspiring:
Holy man open up your eyes
To the ways of the world you've been so blind
As the walls of religion come crashing down
How's the ignorance taste the second time around
Tell me how it feels knowing chaos will never end
Tell me what it's like when the celebration begins
Welcome to the horror of the revelation
Tell me what you think of your savior now
I reject all the biblical views of the truth
Dismiss it as the folklore of the times
I won't be force fed prophecies
From a book of untruths for the weakest mind
Join the new faith for the celebration

Athiests have a common trait - they are individuals. Therefore, they don't have or need a particular style of anything.
If I want inspiration, there are lots of choices of music I can listen to, depending on my mood. I'm not stuck with purely christian music, although I could listen to that if I wished . . .

All kinds of music can be inspirational, including instrumental and classical music. Lyrics atheists would consider inspirational would include music about nature, about caring for your fellow man and about loving others (funny, didn't some guy named Jesus talk about those things too? Why is it again they're called "atheists"?)

All music is inspirational to someone. I personally find great jazz and opera highly inspirational. I don't think you (or perhaps the religious people) understand the concept of inspiration.

Bohemian Rhapsody, Sponge Bob theme to name a few. All Christian artists are, are people who couldn't make it on the real music scene so they opted for the christian genre which apparently, has very low standards or more of it would be breaking the top 40 or top 1000.

Good question. You know, this got me thinking about Christian talk radio, or Christian music stations. How would people react if there was atheist talk radio or atheist-themed music? People would flip out. So much for freedom of religion...or lack thereof. At least atheist radio would be thought-provoking, at least for me.
