I mean, how does it feel to take what an old book tells you at face value?

Why don't you question what your pastors /ministers /preachers tell you? Some of you bash evolution, but in those rants you show a total lack of understanding, arising from only reading on evolution from religious pamphlets.

And more important....WHY DO YOU TITHE?? Why don't you give that money to relief organizations not related to churches?

Doesn't it look weird to you to see your pastors /preachers /ministers living in rich houses and driving expensive cars?

Does SALVATION entail relinquishing the earnings of your hard work? Do your kids deserve this?

What would Jesus think of wealthy ministers and pastors?

THINK....

Pretty intriguing questions.

Although you make it seem like churches are these greedy institutions set up purely to collect money.

Actually, a ton of charity work is driven by churches, from orphanages, to hospitals, nursing facilities, food drives, clothing drives, relief hurricane victims, habitat for humanity, etc. There have been missions to help impoverished or diseased people in China, Africa (for example, leper colonies), and all over the world. These types of activities always go unstated in the media...

You should check your local churches to discover what is really going on there. I'm sure you will find more priests, pastors, ministers live modestly than extravagantly. Yes, there are always exceptions... but you are right to call them out on it :)

No one is saying give all your money away and starve your children... You have to use some degree of reason when looking at passages in the Bible.

That old book has taught me more wisdom and knowledge than any text has.
I definitely don't get my evolution education from my pastor who holds a PhD in theology, religion and whatever...
I leave that up to my Biology teachers in college.
Are you ever sitting in a financial meeting of a church? If you were to you would see how the tithes go toward relief organizations =0)
I think my pastor drives a Chevy cavalier...=0)
I enjoy giving back to my community...10% is minimal, I could spend it on one night out at dinner, but I don't...it goes to a better cause than my tummy...My child is just fine with all she needs and more thanks...
When pastors are driven by money, they will sow what they reap...

But I don't really need to explain myself to you, only to God. I'm sure you don't care to know that these are how many Christians view these things

Yes,and I have no pastors or teachers.I question everything and do not tithe at all.Furthermore,I know bad fruit and reject the rich ministers you are referring to as all Christians do.We have no control over false teachers and hypocrites in the pulpits. They'll meet their maker one day and have to give an account for turning people like you away from the faith.Your bitterness is misdirected young kid.

Where are you going with this? Don't you nihilists realize when you pull apart the social structure you'll be left with nothing? We are all in this together. The power of multiplied earnings in the hands of a group can work more wonders than individuals can. See: your loving Federal Government and all the good it does with money for all (from taxes from the largely-persecuted middle class)

- The truth feels good

- I don't need to its all according to scripture

- The lord does that

- Only false teachers live that way

- No! Salvation is hard work

- Its easier for a camel to go thur the eye of a needle than a rich man to heaven.

1. Truth is exclusive by nature, and your position excludes those who hold otherwise. As for "face value," God revealed His truth in different but evident genres, just like our communication is, and while most of Scripture is literal, some is poetic, parabolic, etc., but revealing His truth and will.

2. While much "ranting" is going on from those on both sides, with the promoters of evolution being the most intolerant to challenges, scientific discussion between the two sides on a much higher level is going on, which shows the unworthiness of evolution as establish fact, while daily abundant evidence reveals it is apparent that God is the designer behind the designed, and that Jesus lives, and give life!

3. As for giving money, it does not all go into new nurseries, and as the aftermath of Katrina shows, it is churches that are at the forefront of relief.

4 +6 . Those pastors who are into the false "health and wealth gospel" are wrong, as you rightly discern.

5. As regards money, like in the stock market, Christians are instructed in the Bible to place it where it will do the most good, both for man's temporal and eternal well being. For in response to salvation, one is called to unselfishness, as followers of Jesus who served sinlessly and selflessly day and night, and then gave Himself for our sins.

Some of your objections are in reality to unBiblical practices, and i would encourage you to find and follow Jesus yourself.

(Acts 10:38-43) "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. {39} And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: {40} Him God raised up the third day, and showed him openly; {41} Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. {42} And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. {43} To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins."

You obviously don't even know what "Dogma" means. "Dogmatic behavior" is a nonsensical term.
