Hey can someone help me?
I've had my ears pierced for around 8 months and everything has been fine except i got a little crust in the early stages, now some crust is comming back and its really hard i can't pick it off...my skin on my lobe just feels very rough, it's much worse on my left ear.
Does anyone know what will rid the crust? I have the ear piercing solution and i clean my ears thoroughly with it. Will the crust just dissapear??
I wear gold studs and i am not allergic.
thanks

i have eight ear piercings and have experienced what you're talking about.

you might have a minor infection. keep cleaning them, and try not to pick at them or touch them much as this can lead to the holes getting infected. things should get better, but if not see your doctor.

using sea salt mixed with warm water is what i've used to clean most of my piercings and it works really well and it's what the piercer recommended. also, rubbing alcohol dries out the skin so don't use it too much for cleaning.

it is also highly recommended not to get your ears pierced with a piercing gun. it's so much cleaner when done with a sterilized needle and a professional that infection risk is much less.

I have a son, Joey Niceforo, who is a young 27 year old tenor, with a group called "DESTINO" recording in Vancouver Bc, Canada.

For the last few weeks Joey has had a cold. Just a few days ago he developed an ear ache, a swollen ear and loss of hearing. He was diagnosed with serous otitis media (middle ear infection).

The major concern we have is that Joey and the Group DESTINO have been booked to open the Marie Osmond show in Disney World on April 3,

Have a quick remedy for our son??

Joey's ear got better just before flying.

He also got the special ear plugs for flying, and arrived in Florida, from Vancouver, on April 1st. On April 2nd he told us the ear was almost 100 percent, and he will, with the other, great DESTINO tenors be performing, in the COLORADO BALL ROOM DISNEY WORLD tonight at 7 pm.

This help was so effective, and helpful, to our young Canadian tenor, Joey Niceforo. I'm sure this input and therapy advice will, and has helped others.

It is perfectly natural, but if it makes your ears sore when you remove the crusties, try softening them up first. Take a clean washcloth, and run it under really warm water. Place it on your piercing and let it sit for a moment to loosen the crusties, and then gently wipe them away. Since they are soft, they won't stick to your ears and make the piercings feel sore. I hope that helps!

I would try holding a warm, damp wash rag on it for a bit to loosen up the crust and then try to rub it off with the washrag.. but not too roughly.. is it oozing pus or anything like that? if so then you may have an infection..

Use Isopropyl alcohol on them and twist your studs 3-4 times per day. Get rid of the "solution" it's just a gimmick to sell a bogus product at a high price.

My stepdaughter has that problem. I just keep neosporin on and around the ear and it seems to help. Not leaving the earrings in for prolonged periods will also help. I've never had that problem but my girl and one of my friends have that problem for some reason.
