It's because people are so sure that they're beliefs are the right beliefs and most of the time they are just close minded to what others believe and refuse to accept that everyone is entitled to believe what they feel is best for them
Personally, if someone is bad mouthing what I believe I try to let it go right over me. I accept that everyone has an opinion and a right to express their opinion but...(ah yes, you knew that was coming didn't you? lol) when someone tries to push their beliefs on other people I think it's wrong! I say, let everyone decide for themselves! I am open to discussion but I am not here to judge anyone.

One of the biggest symptoms of the "human condition" is in that most people do not have the mental ability to look at their own situation in the same light as all others without bias. For example, most people who do attempt to "step back and look at the big picture" still see themselves as larger and more colorful than others rather than as one of the masses blended in with everyone else. Different cultures and subcultures have different "mores" or values in their everyday lives. Many who are raised by wealthy parents of wealthy parents are brought up to believe that they are of a higher "pedigree" so to speak whereas they are entitled to be leaders in society. Many who are raised in impoverished areas are raised to believe that you can do whatever you can to get what you need, life is about survival of the fittest and if someone disrespects you in any way you need to retaliate or risk losing whatever credibility and respect you do have. Other cultures' value "manhood" as whoever fathers the most children is regardless of whether they can support them or not.

Many cultures still look upon women as second class citizens and that their belief in this is somehow tied to their religion or spirituality. The CNN special "God's Warriors" by Christine Amanpour was a brilliant look at how the major religions of the world advocate violence.

For the most part, I do believe that most people who's religious and spiritual beliefs are rooted in peace do respect any other religion that is also rooted in peace.

God Bless,

I'm a Latter-Day Saint...a.k.a a Mormon. It does hurt when i hear people speaking bad about my religion. Majority of the time they are only repeating what they hear from some uneducated person who has no idea what he is talking about on the subject of mormonism. That's what makes me upset because they are spreading lies, and i can't be on here 24/7 to try to set it straight. it would be easier if they went to a member of my church and asked their question to them to get the right answer. But when i try to answer, i don't try to be harsh or anything. It doesn't help to get angry. People either listen or not.

I don't get mad when people don't believe what I do. I think some people do because they believe if you don't believe in God you will burn in Hell and that upsets them. They wonder why someone would choose that. But I don't think they should get mad OR bash the person for it. They should just pray and leave it be.
But I do get upset when they talk about my beliefs as I would not do it to them.
I am a Christian.

I honestly believe that some people are so insecure in their beliefs that they feel if someone worships differently then there is a chance that the other person is right and they might be wrong. We are all individuals and need to express that difference, for that is what makes us stronger. It bothers me so to hear others speak ill of another faith, for they devalue their own faith as well as that of the other person. We all have a right to our own way of worship (or not to at all) and we should be more respectful of that right with others.

I don't mind other's beliefs what does upset me is the blind ignorance that belief sometimes cultures. This manifests itself by equating religion and science as both being something to be believed in and then by thinking that debunked lies should be taught as science.

The other problem with some believers is that they think that their morality should be shared by others and work to make it laws.

There's the contradiction: religious and mean? No such two coexist. The religious man is not mean; the mean man is not religious. Righteous indignation is neat though. We are commanded to try and show others the errors of their ways, if possible. Nothing mean intended. You may now continue erring.

I don't get mad or upset. All people are free to believe what they want. There is no reason for anyone to get upset. If someone doesn't like someone elses question or answer all they have to do is ignore it. It's that simple. My life doesn't depend on "their" belief, only mine.

I'm just a plain old Believer
Nope it does not bother me when people come on here and talk bad about my belief, that is their choice
everyone has an opinion, and everyone thinks their opinions are correct, but that is for you alone, not to shovel down someones throat if they choose not to listen

In the end it does not matter if you believe what I believe or vice-versa. If neither one of us have truth, then what?

The bible says "search the Scriptures for in them (Scriptures) you think you have eternal life, but they(the Scriptures) are those that testify of Me (Jesus).

If we do not obey the Gospel of God, does it matter? Have we obeyed Acts 2:38? Have we been filled with God's Holy Spirit, if not, we are lost already no matter if others believe or not.

We have to make sure we are obedient to the Word of God, and not care if people are mad at us.
