Fair ball, runner is safe, batter is safe at first, ball is dead and all runners must return to the last base they occupied, unless forced to the next base. A runner can only be called out in this situation if he is hit by a fair ball in fair territory.

Foul ball. The ball had to come back toward home plate to hit the runner, so it never made it past 3rd base before rolling into foul territory to become a legitimate fair ball.

the runner is in foul territory he would be safe..be cause he not in the field of play(fair territory)..that is why you see all runners take a lead of third in foul ground..just for that reason

Why is this in the golf section? Ball is considered foul. Think about when someone bunts down the line and it rolls. If it rolls toward the mound it is fair but if it rolls towards the dugout and doesn't pass the base then it is foul. Same thing applies since the ball didn't pass third base.
