Go get yourself some help, seriously. You can't keep carrying baggage like that around, it's not healthy for you or anyone you form close relationships with -- it's always going to rear it's ugly head.. . Jesus, you were 4/5 years old when this happened. . that makes me sick -- I pray about that, I have a 15 year old and I've always said if anyone did that to her, they wouldn't live to tell the story. I'm sorry, I feel for you - but don't let this break you as a person - you can still rise above it. . but don't run from it.

You can't "get away" from it, hon, but you can seek therapy.
I was abused as a child, too, and because of that experience i developed post traumatic stress disorder, which causes anxiety, flashbacks, general fear, depression and sometimes even dissociation.
I have been in and out of therapy for many years... when i have an issue, i go to therapy. At first, i went for over a year, 3-4 times a month, sometimes more often, depending on how i was doing
In therapy i learned quite a lot... that it was NOT my fault i was abused, that my abuser is ILL, and that there is a life beyond abuse.
We don't forget it, but our therapist can help us to develop good coping skills and ways to move forward.
You deserve to feel better. I'd suggest therapy. and you can do yahoo searches on these things for advice, and support --
COPING WITH ABUSE
SURVIVING ABUSE
ABUSE RECOVERY
There are many websites and forums for support and help. I hope you find your way. You deserve to feel better... please consider a therapist.
If you have to have a referral because of insurance, visit your doctor first. Doctors (and therapists) are very familiar with these issues and deal with them quite often... so don't be embarrassed or ashamed... telling the truth is all about getting help for YOU...
hugs

Therapy is definitely a great option. You could talk to a counsellor about it or find a group for ppl in the same situation. That scum bag should be behind bars so maybe talking to the police would be beneficial, not only to you but anyone he has or might possibly abuse in the future.

You don't say how old your are now, but that really doesn't make a difference as to what you should do to help with your problem. It is obvious that you need counseling from someone who will listen to you. If you are in school, talk to a counselor, or perhaps there is a minister you can talk to. Whatever you do go for professional help. There is no sense in you having to live with this history of abuse.

First of all, how old are you now?
Then, what do you mean by "abuse"? Physical, emotional, sexual?
Need more details.

you need to talk to a professional who can help you better cope with your memories, and you should also tell the police, and put that scumbag behind bars- so he can't hurt anyone else...

you need to see a counselor, they will help you talk about it, and talk through it, so that you don't see it everywhere. that is what they are for, to help.
