not to pricey but nice, first time staying there.

Well, the Westin IS fairly pricey; it's beautiful, but it'll set you back a bit -- from around $249, depending on when you stay.
There's also the Loews Annapolis Hotel and the Marriott Annapolis Waterfront -- both are also very nice, but a little on the steep side.

For something a little more mid-range, a lot of the hotel chains you know (and love?!) have locations in Annapolis: the Hampton Inn & Suites, the Comfort Inn, the Holiday Inn Express, and the Residence Inn are all considered to be pretty decent for that price range. At the bottom of the price spectrum, of course, there's always good old Super 8!

Have you checked out IgoUgo.com yet? They have honest hotel reviews from other travelers and candid pictures, too -- here's their Annapolis page so you can look at reviews and find something that suits you: http://www.igougo.com/lodging-l2181-Annapolis_hotels.html

Hope this helps -- have a great stay, wherever you end up!

The absolute cheapest spot to stay in the area is the KOA campground. I enjoy staying there in the fall. If you do not have a camper or a tent, they have cabins to rent. The cabins have AC for when it is hot, and when it is cold I love to build a campfire out in front of the cabin.

It is not right in Annapolis, but about 10 to 15 miles down the road. From the KOA, head south on I-97 for 10 miles. Head east on 50 and the Annapolis exit is either the first or second exit.

Good luck!

The new Westin Hotel opened last week. There's also the Sheraton, which is cheaper.

Good luck!, the cost of living is high there.
