Hair length is a cultural thing. There are very few cultures that feature long hair for men. Why do some western men wear long hair when it makes them look dirty and out of step? Especially older guys with grey hair. An old, fat, balding guy with a greasy ponytail is disgusting. Most of these guys look like bums. The women I've dated and who I wanted to date who are older than 24 consider long hair as equivalent to smoking or tattoos. They think guys who wear long hair are losers. I used to wear my hair long after leaving the military, but it was a drag. Keeping it clean and out of my face was irritating. My dating life started picking up when I cut my hair. Higher class women. So, what do guys get out of long hair?

I wear my long hair because it represents my individuality because I don't conform to standards that people like you place on how men should wear there hair, I also listen to Death Metal, so..... because i ****** feel like it.

The sizable homosexual pop in the black community is more than likely attributed to high incarceration rates. Those with lessor offenses are released back into society after having months to years of encounters in the jail system. This is where the saggy pants come from. In the old days we wore baggy pants. Saggy pants is some jail culture crap that has filtered its way into society embraced by the youth as "style". That's 80% of the issue there...jail life. Braids have historically been apart of black culture since the beginning of time no relation to homo tenancies. Baggy pants have been apart of black culture since way back when...jazz; be bop; zuit suits; etc... Earrings have also been apart of black culture since the beginning of time. In america, the left signify you're straight and the right signify you're not; if you have both then you're probably sending some awkward signals. The prison system has demoralized our blackmen so that they are incapable of leading households; have difficulty re-entering the workforce; etc. Very few go in and come out like Mike Vick who has an opportunity to pick up where he left off. If your put in jail at 18yrs then released at 30, the likelihood that person will be able to cope with society is unlikely. That person will rely on jail survivial skills to help him to cope or resort back to what landed him in jail in the first place.

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://tr.im/K8UmA
While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

Because of celebrities like Steve Nash and Johnny Damon... I know that was my reason and my reason for cutting it off was also because it took too much time to take care of it and it was hard to keep out of my face... So... I cutted it off and it felt so much better and plus it shocked a lot of people when they saw me with my haircut... So... I also did for the shock value... Since then I hadn't had my hair long... That has been 5 or so months now... No temptation to grow it back either...

I used to where my hair long to be different. I cut it becuase no body believed I would. I happen to like long hair. And my hair was nappy and greasy like many guys with long hair have. It is personal preferance. My style and many others people style is basically, I don't give a S@$^ what other people think.

Maybe it was a style that they grew up with and they just are so use to it they keep it going. I know alot of young guys look good with semi long hair and it look mysterious and sexyl. But older guys I agree do not look good with it.

Some women like men with long hair. Not a lot, but some. And there are some men who actually do look good with long hair. It takes a lot of confidence and good grooming for a man to pull it off, but I have seen it done, and it looks fantastic.

For the same reason some men wear it short or shave it off, they like it that way. Everyone has their own personal look they enjoy. It isn't for anyone to say what is good or bad. If it makes you feel good go with it.
