Sure that should not be any problem. However, I'd simmer it, not boil it when you continue and from now on!

You should just let it come to a good boil and then turn off the fire. Cover the chicken as it will be cooked further by the heat. Check on it later when it is cooled and keep it in the fridge or continue cooking.

It depends on how long you will be gone. If your absence is short term (an hour?), just turn the fire off, put a lid on the pan and allow it to continue cooking in the broth. When you come back turn the heat back on. If you are going to be gone a long time, then yes -you need to refrigerate the chicken for safety sake.

The best solution is to make your chicken in a crock pot...then you can run all day and not have to babysit the food.

Just close it off, any leave it in the broth. You can't put it in the fridge as it will be to hot, and you should cool food down before refrigerating it. When you come back. remove the chicken and cut it up for the soup add your vegetables and continue cooking.

Sure. If you're in a hurry, you can let it cool, cover the pot and stick it directly in the fridge. Make sure it's cool enough not to feel warm to your hand. Then when you get ready to finish cooking the chicken, take it out of the refrigerator, uncover and resume cooking.

Let it cool a bit then stick the pot in the fridge. When you're ready to finish cooking it, cut the chicken before you do. It'll cook faster than if you leave it in halves.

It takes a couple of hours to cool off something that has reached a boiling temperature...and you should never put something hot in the fridge.

Either let it simmer on a low flame or let it set and cool on the stove....do your errands and then return to the boil or simmer.

Your best bet is to finish boiling the chickens, turn the burner off, and let the pot cool while you run your errands. Better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck!

If its not hot, you can put it in the fridge. If its still hot, get it as hot as you can get it and then shut it off. You can leave it out for up to about 3 hours, no more.
