Marlin made shotguns marked 'National Fire Arms Co' for H&D Folsom Arms Co of New York City. They're a cheaper version of their own M17, I believe. As they were an inexpensive working gun, few are in good condition, and one in excellent shape might be valuable to the right person.

National Firearms Co. was a brand name used by two distinct companies so the info often gets convoluted and twisted together. Crescent (owned by Fulsom as mentioned by Jd above) was one and Marlin the other. Crescent only made break open singles and doubles....Marlin made the pumps.
Yours is a Marlin Model 16 in all likelihood....but there were several almost identical models in production in the same time frame. Try gunbroker.com and do a search on that name and model and see if yours matches. If no hits, try a model 24 or a model 31.
Yours dates from approx 1905 to about 1920 if I recall correctly. I can't be more exact. No access to my books at the moment.
No real idea as to value. I'm not a Marlin person. If it were the Fulsom gun, I could tell you, though.

Without additional information and based on what you provided, you have a Shotgun designed by H. Lloyd Folsom.(Circa 1919)
They were manufactured and marketed however by Crescent Firearms Company a subsidiary of Folsom Arms. (Crescent being out of business for years now) These shotguns were sold under dozens of "brand" names including Baker Brand, National Firearms, Sear & Roebuck and J.C. Penny to name just a few. Theses classic Pump guns along with Double barrel guns were mass produced by Crescent and distributed throughout the U.S. thru direct catalog sales and retail stores between 1919-1923.
If in excellent condition, they have some value but no additional Collectors value due to the fact they were mass produced by the thousands.....

It won't. But if they are chasing down citizens for a 4c tax default, while ignoring Dems in Congress maybe they need the work. Sad but true.
