and errr..........no who ever said "im going o be the town mayor" cause for one reason: it has to be true, and secondly: we dont have town mayor's in Harlow, they have those in little villages like Norfolk or something, hehe i know that cause i used to live in Norfolk. XOXO

I have to say.. what Jessie K said is not only wrong but vulgar.
Apparently, x.jaydiieh.x thinks she speaks good Spanish, but she doesn't. What she wrote is totally incorrect.
Sorry.

I'm afraid to say that when learning a language there is really no substitute for hard work and, frankly, a lot of repetition. This is specially daunting at the beginning but if you persevere it can became a lot of fun.
As for your coursework, keep it simple initially and then you can try more complex sentences. Remember your teacher is right, automatic online translators don't do good translations and if you just use one your teacher will detect it in a second because they are just not very good as languages have too many variables. Follow your teacher's advice and use your textbooks. You can also use sites like http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/spanish/ and eventually get in the habit of reading Spanish newspapers, listen to radio programs or videos...
Finally if you want to post your first attempt I'm sure there will be many who could help you with it... as long as we can weed out those who think it funny to be... let's say unhelpful.

Maybe if you can start just with simple things, like geographical and statistic data of your town.
For example: Este es Harlow, un pueblo localizado en el estado de __________, a pocos kilómetros de ________. Harlow se extiende a lo largo de ____ Km2. Es un pueblo cercano a la playa (or in between mountains or wherever) just describe your town, you can say that it has a train station (una estación de trenes). Even simple things can help you to start. The climate (el clima), the animals (la fauna) the anthem (el himno), the vegetation (la flora), how many districts (cuantos distritos tiene), how many universities (cuantas universidades tiene), etc.....
start...
you can use an English - Spanish dictionary to do it easily. Good Luck

1. DO NOT use what Jessie K said it means "Kiss me, the buttocks of Harlow, I am fat"
2. Try paying more attention in class and use your textbooks, verb tables and dictionary to construct a few sentences, that is how you learn. Don't forget you have the advantages, you are young, you are at school and at the best age to learn properly. I am learning Spanish too, I am 66, not at school (teaching myself) and it is hard when you are getting older.

maybe you should write everything in english first than go online and find a free dictionary and translate from there. or go to the library.
