It seems to me we "identify" or relate to someone who has similar experiences according to our perception. How can we use identifying as a way to grow? Must there be complete objectivity and an understanding that not all experiences and circumstances are the same? What do you think?

Of course it is natural to somewhat identify with those who are closest to us especially relatives or children. But the only way to really advance spiritually is to see that everyone is part and parcel of God and no one belongs to us. We may be put in situations to care for someone and we should do that service as a service to God and realize they are not mine to keep but Gods child or servant. In this way we don't discriminate if someone is not ours so to speak but treat everyone accordingly as servants and children of God. Thanks.

not "all" esperiences will be..even if they seem so close it ain't funny..but to "identify with, or "relate too someone" of simular circumstances..allows an individual to be able to converse on a leval they might not have been able to with others who have no idea, because of them not being able to relate with, or "identify with." and conversation, venting, confessing, praying with, these things are more of a "heart matter" between two individuals who have had an experience, than most of the time..those who have never encountered it..there is an "Understanding there" bye...

I think experience is objective and subjective and how we identify and why we do is all about comfort and the emotionally need to be accepted by peers
