It does a little bit, I use to have to pour it over some wounds after a surgery to keep them clean, and I did that for a couple of months (every day) and it did make my skin a little lighter, but after a week of not doing it my skin went back to the same color. I have heard that some woman soak there feet in it to make the dark spots go away, but I have yet to try to see if it works!!

No the main job of peroxide is to clean, it will not bleach your skin. It will however clean bodily fluids such as blood out of clothing.

it doesn't. i'm using benzoyl peroxide at the moment for pimples on my back and it didn't change my color even a bit.
