Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has cooked a corned beef in the crockpot and how it turned out? I have one in today and I am cooking on low all day?

That's the only way I cook ours! I just put it in the crock and empty the seasoning packet on it, add about 4-5 cups of water and a beer. Then some minced garlic, a quartered red onion, a couple quartered potatoes, and some bay leaves. Then I just leave it on high all day. So tender and juicy. It just falls apart.

Then the next day I make hash with the leftover corned beef and some cold diced baked potatoes and some onion and garlic and bell pepper.

Corned beef in a crockpot is really good. Turns out very tender. Add carrots and cabbage....for the last 20 minutes.

That is the best way to cook it! Just plop it in there with the fatty side up, sprinkle the spice packet on it that comes with it, put an inch or two of water in there, and just let it cook on low all day. It comes out nice and tender every time!

That's how I cook it. Really fabulous.

Add the cabbage towards the end of the day. I also prefer red potatoes to regular with this dish, and sometimes I'll add just one beef boullion cube to the liquid.
