Yes. But I had to learn it on my own with seminary textbooks and the like.
It should be taught in Churches everywhere.

Read the book of Acts in the New Testament. That is the real History of the church.

Which church? There's one being built right up the street from here. It started out as a field and then bulldozers and other equipment leveled it off and guys started a foundation and they keep adding things to it. Prett nice history so far...

Am I concerned that a bunch of men co-opted the Church's true mission hundreds of years ago? Not really, I know we're back on track now. Why dwell on ancient past (like Arabs and Jews in Jerusalem. SHARE IT ALREADY).

real is a realitive term that is dependant upon ones views and bias towards the church to begin with.
