... when in fact it is the story about how god killed almost every living thing on earth because she was mad at them?

Do you think kids are stupid and won't understand that you are trying to cherry-coat genocide and justify it with fluffy bunnies and giraffes and rainbows?

There are no "facts" about this myth.
Everything about this story is ridiculous. The vessel itself is a physical impossibility. Any wooden vessel of the dimensions given in the bible would destroy itself under it's own weight.
Further, where did two of EVERY species of animal come from? Did the Koalas and Kangaroos just swim across the ocean? What about North American Bears and other species endemic to this continent? Did they walk across the pole?
It's utter hogwash and the only lesson to be learned is that anyone who believes it, is either terminally gullible, or thoroughly brainwashed.

So that they'll see that what's important, is which animal they're having for dinner. The story is written in such a way as to promote the use of animals as food, and metaphorically speaks of mass-farming and industrial animal production. Noah "hoarding" the animals into a ship is comparable to how one might "hoard" a freezer full of hot dogs, hamburger patties, steaks, venison, etc. When the animals are in the ship, it is a metaphor for different types of meat, such as premium three-meat sausage blends featuring pork, beef, and bison meat. Knowing the story of Noah and his "ark" gives kids an opportunity to understand which tasty animals are out there, and thus, what's a dinner option on any given night.

--- YES! That's why they do it. Sneaky, huh? I didn't realize they were putting a pretty red bow on that turd until I got older.

The great houdini. Apparently he was cool for pulling rabbits out of his hat as part of his magic tricks. Seems appropriate for Atheists who seem to think that something can come from nothing. Cosmic houdini alll tha way baby!!!!! @Questioner........I never even mentioned the Big Bang, Evolution, etc. I have no problem with either of them(especially since the Big Bang theory was formulated by a Catholic Priest named Father George Lemaitre). I was hitting and the fundamental core of this debate. Namely, "why is there something rather than nothing" as Leibniz and Heidegger put it. And, if you educate yourself, often times the response to this question from Atheists have been that "the universe comes from nothing". Just read for instance the works of Professor Victor Stenger or Peter Atkins where they try to use Quantum Theory to justify the claim that something can come from nothing. So why don't you go educate yourself...... @question...................-_-......fa... I never said "something came from nothing". Im saying your Atheistic presuppositions inevitably leads you to that conclusion.................I know different scientists have different opinions on Quantum theory and things along those lines. My goodness its like talking to a brick wall here.................

People are tempted to soften the truth, especially for the young children. Eventually they are taught completely.
Children are fascinated more with the animals than with anything else at those young ages.
I cannot agree with how you define what happened. To use that def. is to judge God's actions. His purpose is spelled out in the scriptures.
Without a doubt, building a huge ark on dry ground attracted much attention, which most likely gave Noah all kinds of opportunity to preach repentance to everyone around.
They made their choice. The same as people are making their choices today. They scoffed at Noah, and they scoff at Christ.
Bty, it wasn't sugar-coated for me. And I do not do that myself.

Unfortunately, most kids actually do take it to be all about the fluffy bunnies, giraffes, and rainbows.

I grew up in the church and always knew that the story of Noah's Ark was about God flooding the earth, but He saved Noah & his family, plus two of every animal. What's your point?

BTW, who told you God is "She"? God is our Father in Heaven, so that makes Him "He". You know, it states that in the first chapter of the Bible. (If you read it, you're less like to embarrass yourself with those mistakes.)

Ghoul, go stick your head in a hole somewhere! ;-)~~

God was merciful to allow even those 8 people to survive!

And the animals, animal lovers are thankful for Then being saved.

You are trying to bring your 21st century thinking into a story 5-6 thousand years old.

Repent and believe otherwise you in like manner will perish
