ordered this morning from catalogue but this over credit limit - the order has been accepted and authorised but will i be charged for this? or will this stop my credit limit being increased in future??

No they won't charge you. I have done this once or twice!!! They may even up your credit limit.

They may have accepted your order and said that its ok,but this happened to me before and they then sent out a letter saying that id exceeded the limit and they couldnt send it,so maybe youll get a letter saying the same.
They are pretty good at upping the limit though,so if you do get a letter just ring and ask them if they could increase it.

normally, they will ask you to pay an amount off your balance to approve the order or they will put you through to a certain department for them to see how you run your account and as a gesture of good will they will approve the order and may increase the limit

Can you see if you can get it under the limit before they print the statment?

If you do go over the limit, they will charge £12.00 if you have never been charged before see if they will waiver the fee as a gesture of good will.

You still owe the money whether they have contacted you in 6 years or not. The debt was sold to a firm of debt collectors, they might not take you to Court but you are still in default and owe the money. Have you looked at your Credit Rating, is it on there. UK
