I believe you are referring to Leviticus 12:1-5 explaining the law of purification after childbirth for the Jewish people. There are also cross-references of this scripture in the New Testament: Luke 1:59 and Luke 2:22

Before we start, it is important for the reader to know that the entire Bible had been corrupted and is filled with man's alterations as clearly shown in the introduction above. Please visit Contradictions and Proofs of Historical Corruptions in the Bible for more details and proofs.
In the Bible:
New born baby girls cause double the pollution to the mother than the new born baby boys:
"Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a MALE child: then she shall be unclean SEVEN DAYS; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying THIRTY THREE days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled. But if she bear a FEMALE child, then she shall be unclean TWO WEEKS,
as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying SIXTY SIX days. (From the NIV Bible, Leviticus 12:2-5)"
Please visit Women's menses in the Bible and Islam for more details.
In the Roman Catholic Bible: "....and the birth of ANY daughter is a loss. (From the New Jerusalem Bible, Ecclesiasticus 22:3)"

This is an Old Testament Law to the nation of Israel, only.
If you don't even believe in God or the Bible in the first place, what difference does it make?
But, like I said, don't concern yourself with this, this is one of those Laws that was given for a specific "people group", and if you're not part of that people group, it's not specifically FOR you. If you ARE, go ask your rabbi.
We do well if we can love God with our heart, soul, mind and strength, and love our neighbor as much as we love ourselves.

Good question......
I need to dig into some footnotes for you to find this one out. Or...I hope that someone else can come up with the answer for this from an Old Testament, Hebrew perspective.

Becasue according to men, women aren't as important, its a way to make women feel less worthy, like they've done something wrong by being born. Its ridiculous, like most things in the bible.
