Because as a child you are dependent upon your parents. They are our teachers.
I went along with what my parents taught me for a long time, that is until I turned 15 and started to question the logic/existance of religion. At which time I started (secretly nonetheless) looking into other belief systems and by doing that I was able to break free of my parents puppeting concerning beliefs.

Because when you are a child, you believe everything your parents tell you. That's why it is border-line child abuse to teach a kid about hell ... it will most likely ruin their perception on life for eternity.

Some of us lucky ones break free though ...

I KNOW what I decided to Believe--which is in
God, and His son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

My parents only guided me---they SURELY did not push us.

In infancy, we have no reason to distrust our parents so we accept what is told to us as the truth.

my mom and dad didn't pass on there religion to me. they let me find my own way to the Divine. which i am very thankful for
