He has been lost since 5pm yesterday. I'm really worried about him because he never used to go outside unsupervised, and he never left our street. He isn't neutered so I'm thinking maybe he went out to find a girl cat?

Do most cats come home if they're lost? I put some cat food outside last night and some animal ate it already, but it could have been anything. Maybe another cat ate it or a raccoon perhaps... I haven't really seen any other cats in my neighborhood.

Many come home on their own. But your kitty will probably need help because he's not used to being outside.

Go looking for him and call him. Make sure to listen too, because he might be too frightened to come to you. Ask the neighbors, and put out flyers with your kitty's picture on it.

Good luck!

Don't worry too much. My kitty, and indoor 3 year old male, recently went on a "vacation" (he was lost too) for 3 weeks, and one day, he decided to come home. I was really worried because he was indoor as well.
The best thing you can do to bring your kitty home is to: 1. Put an article of clothing outside of your home, something you've worn already, dirty laundry, like a sweatshirt. 2. Posters within a couple block radius. 3. Walk around your neighborhood and bring treats/ tuna/ a favorite toy (make noise as you walk) around dusk or sunrise, is best, because cats are more active during the dark, and there will be less activity (cars, etc.). 4. Notify your local animal shelter 5. Keep leaving food outside, it's ok if other animals eat it, you won't know, it's better to have your kitty fed by chance it comes by when your not home, than starve. 6. (most importantly) try to find a way to leave access into your home available. Ex: I left my garage door cracked all the time, and left the door to the house ajar. You never know, one day you may wake up and he might stroll through the door. Good Luck!!

Hi
all i can say is that my sister recently lost her cat which she had only had for two days. She didn't see him for 9 days and then out of the blue he just turned up.
Cats are essentially wild at heart and if he isn't neutered then he is probaly looking for a mate. All you can do is to leave food out and call for him. They will eventually come home if they want to, but uneutered cats are more likely to wander.

My cat just got out about four days and she still hasn't come home, but she's done this twice before (the first time I don't think she was even a full year old) and she came home about two weeks later both times. Hopefully both of our cats will be coming home soon!

Ask your neighbors around the block. Maybe someone fed your kitten, they know it was cute then picked it up. Also post up flairs immediately with pix and a description of your cat. Good Luck, Meow

cats do roam if ther not done for miles.if you have not found tomm, put notices up and in peoples doors to tell them to check garages, sheds.also if no luck put a ad in local paper, have you rang the vets, cat pounds to see if handed in lost or hurt.try the local council to see if picked up.put notice in vets and bill board all round your way.sometimes a small reward helps as children will look.good luck im sure he will come back.but get him neutered
