It depends on the amount of your bonus. Upon completion of AIT you are eligible to begin receiving your sign up bonus. If it is less than $10,000 you should be able to get it in one lump sum. If it is greater than that then it will be split over an extended period, again depending on the total amount of the bonus.

Sorry about answering your question with a comment instead of an answer but in the Army, basic training is not called boot camp. In both the Army and Airforce it is called Basic Training. In the Navy and Marine Corps it is boot camp.

Your enlisment contract will very clearly spell out when bonuses are paid. Your recruiter can also tell you specifically.

If it is a sign on bonus, you may not get it till the term is complete. As in, 4 years...that is how business does it, did you read the fine print??

depends on how the contract is written. if the contract states you have to complete all training, then when you report to your first duty station you must put in the paperwork to request it..it is NOT automatic. It can take anywhere from ten days to a year to get the monies, however.

Don't hold your breath waiting for a big payout.

The bonuses are paid in small increments over the duration of your enlistment contract.

Next time read the fine print.

General rule of thumb, you will receive half upon completion of AIT, of course they take taxes out of that, the rest will be in incriments annualy on the anniversary of your enlistment, also with taxes taken out.

Usually it is split half and half. Half when you get to the half way mark of your contract and the other half right before you get out!
