Because one of Abrahams sons saw their beliefs differently from his brothers when they were both told to go and raise their "Gods" up on high to all nations. (Yes there were "Gods" in the beginning - the original texts prove the plural spelling.
They adopted the rituals of the locals to add to their beliefs so they could convert or even show their beliefs are similar and easier to live by. Later, out of simplicity, things were brought to one single Deity and a set of rules by that deity were to be upheld without question. Both Jews and Muslims lived in harmony until Christ appeared and saw that the religions were flawed and were used as a means of control rather than a way of life and harmony. Hence, truthfully, Jesus started the 2000+ yr riot between the religions. With Rome incharge of most of the middle east and mesopotamia, the word of Jesus was spread and because the people listened that their belief in their God should not be used as a way to set up a monarchy and rule people (since most was waring nations at that time and Romans ruled most of the middle east and west. The teachings were simple - love one another, no man has the right to own another, everyone is equal no matter if you were a monarch, rich or poor. And take care of those less fortunate.
Well, then you had, riots, more wars, human desicration, and with the growth of christianity, the stories of the Jews and Muslims were twisted to fit Christianity and now everyone believed they are the chose of the Holy land. Now you have 3 religions fighting over a piece of earth that Abraham owned and gave a portion to each son - which were in harmony until Christianity. And they still argue to this day.
The true owners of that little peice of earth are the true decendants of Abraham Muslim and Jew alike and no one else. And to real technical, no one actually "owns" or can claim anything. We are just visiting - The Goddess "Mother Nature" owns it.
It is sad to see people bicker over a piece of land due to a religion or belief system.

Any concept relating to a One True Path To God, once internalized, produces hate as a natural byproduct. After all, if you're right, those other guys must be wrong.
There are countless passages in both the Old Testament and the Koran that can be (1) highlighted as "headlines" when they were meant to be side notes, (2) twisted in their meaning without regard to historical context, (3) intentionally if unconsciously misunderstood by the largely uneducated followers of The Word some few thousand years after they committed to parchment.
Look at the Christians of middle ages. Contemplate the very idea of "the warrior monk."
Hatred comes (and ONLY comes) from minds that have been closed. Dogma is the lock that holds those minds in captivity. I'm right. You're wrong. So...
I'm going to pour molten lead into your vagina until you confess to witchcraft and declare the Lord your Saviour OR I'll just go ahead and fly a few jumbo jets into your most iconic buildings, killing thousands of innocents.
But see all that stuff is okay with God. Because God knows damn well that I'm right. And you're wrong.
You got any HARD questions, Moni?

Abraham was chosen to be a Great Prophet of the Creator of the Universe.
Abraham had two sons who were both to be blessed with a Holy Covenant at separate times.
The Holy Covenant are promises from The Lord of Abraham in return for taking on the responsibility to "Make Allah/God known to the World" and establishing the “laws of God” on the Earth.
Ishmael - first son - ISLAM
Issac - second son - JUDAISM & Christianity
JUDAISM is the covenant through Isaac.
ISLAM is the covenant through Ishmael.
One recognizes the others status and the one does not.
Superiority complexes make peace difficult.

Good old sibling rivalry. Islam is descended from Abraham by Ishmael. Judaism and Christianity are descended from Abraham by Isaac. Isaac's mother, Sarah banished Hagar, her servant and Ishmael's mother when Isaac was born. Hagar was left alone in the desert with a son and nothing for food or livelihood. She sat her son on a rock and cried out to God, "What am I going to do with my son, I have nothing I cannot raise him?" God told her that she and her son will survive and that her son will be the ascendant of millions.

Because the 22 Islamic countries won't accept the tiny Jewish state in their midst; Israel takes up 0.01 per cent of the Middle East. Less than one per cent!
And to correct an earlier reply: Israel has tried to negotiate and make peace, over and over.
But how do you talk peace with people who will not recognize that you have the right to even exist? How?

Christianity, Judaism and Islam all started and have Abraham as their father..the father of many nations. There is no reason for all the hate.

This is a war that has been going on since the beginning of time. It did not start between the seed of Isaac and the seed of Ishmael. It began when satan decieved eve into eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge. ...There is a seed of good and a seed of evil. There is a seed that God chose and there is a seed that satan chose to kill off the seed that God chose....It's interested that extreme muslims wants to annihilate the seed of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob off of the face of this earth.

Jews changed their holy book and their religion
They called themselves chosen ones and denied true prophets after their own prophet.

They hate each other BECAUSE they are so similar.
You have Catholics and Protestents hating each other, Sunni and Shiites, and they are sects within the same faith.
The more similar they are, the more that the differences stand out.
