Yes. However, childhood and adolescent cancers, in general, are different than adult cancers. Many childhood an young adult cancers stem from the early cells associated with embryo's . .thus you will hear about children with 'small blue round' cell cancers. Almost any age person can develop a childhood cancer since it is a description of the cells affected and not necessarily the chronicological age of the person. Thus it is possible for a 40 year old to have a childhood cancer.

But, for your original question . . yes, young adults with cancer are among the most hidden patients in existence. With all the focus on lung, breast, and colon cancer affecting older adults . . young adults are almost totally forgotten . . which leads many people to ask questions like yours.

I too concur with the answer: cancer can strike at any age. Haven't you heard of kiddie cancers (meaning those which strike at childhood). During teenage and yes it can come in the early 20's too. All ages.

Yes. Certain cancers even target certain ages. Testicular cancer strikes males usually between 15 and 30. If something doesn't feel right. Go get it checked. Believe me I know, I'd be dead if I had waited.
