I prefer to believe the second choice, but it is a bold leap from faith to certitude, a leap I refrain from taking.

I don't see how certitude either way is justified.

Or to put it another way: it is a bold leap from plausibility to certitude.

There is no action in the universe without cause.
Higher Beings have created universe to exist, that is true.

Neither is very plausible when stated that way.
Nothing comes from nothing, stated another way something can not come from nothing.
What is meant by higher Being? Higher being conjures up a sorts of strange and implausible images.
If you are speaking of a sort of universal consciousness then maybe, if we could even begin to conceive of such a thing. Even then it would not be quite true. Human language can not even begin to approach spiritual awareness; there are no words for it.

The universe exists because a higher Being has caused it to exist.
reason being What caused the so-called 'Big Bang" ?
God exist in eternity, Time itself, the ticking of the clock as it were was created by God for us as He does not need it, now with that answered before it's ask beforehand.
What created the Big Bang ?
and whatever answer is given I will ask were that came from and will continue to ask that question to infinity.
Now the only evidence I wil accept is for someone to create a Big bang from the nothingness by speaking it into existance from nothing.

Another option entirely....
The universe has always existed: Energy is never lost or created, it is just changes form.
God is eternal, God is everything, and everything is in God. Nothing is magically created, everything is formed from what already existed. Crafted, like a trillion times more complicated that the internal combustion engine. The universe is system built on system built on system etc. Every system is self regulating under the laws of physics which are inherent to the universe and its root design.

You didn't think out this question too well, did you?
A skeptic will ask (as they've done here), "who or what caused the higher being to exist?"
The question has been asked a million times. Yahoo has a Search function.
lol, such a Christian attitude. You should already know my answer. I guess you're not that smart.

The former, of course.
The latter claim more than doubles the size of the original problem. Positing that as an explanation is like saying "The best way to get out of credit card debt is to buy a car you can't afford.

Something caused it to exist, but it would not neccessarily have to be a higher being.
HOWEVER, for reason I've experienced, I believe it was the higher being, God!
He may well have done it the way scientists think, though.

However those who don't want to believe, don't care about plausibility.
