When rain comes down and covers the land which brings forth the fruit(and vegetables) of the ground and this food ends up on your plate who do you thank? Do you say "Thank you mere coincidence!" or "Thank you by chance!" or are you so full of pride that you really believe that it is yourself who brings goodness to your life?

Thank you your answers you they just keep adding to the fact that there is a creator, as neither of you are able or will ever be able to explain the beginning of all things you only know the process and your recognition goes as far as that. I could also, just thank the process but i have common sense to know that everything has a beginning and an end so I will keep my faith in the great creator the beginning and the end and daily will thank him for all the goodness he gives. Oh, and regarding your anger that God causes such catastrophies as floods, tornados and such.. why blame God and not your beloved evolution process? if it is true all creatures adapted to their habitat why don't we have wings to fly away when a flood comes, or shelfs like snails when a tornado comes....

Thank you Mother Earth!

And yes, each and every individual is responsible for bringing goodness to their own lives. Fruits, vegetables do not just grow on their own, humanity has a hand in all of that....if the plants were not cared for nothing would grow!

How do you explain all those unfortunate people who do not have goodness in their lives? Do you believe they are being punished? Is this question a sad attempt to try and tell everyone who does not believe the same as you that they are wrong? Open your mind, accept that everyone is entitled to believe whatever they wish, as long as it does not harm others.

this question is completely ignorant. a truly insipid question that spends so little time looking at a world view that god suddenly has nothing to do with even your own point of view.
are you so full of pride that you "know" from what divine and spiritual science "brought forth fruit."
are you so full of pride that you have ceased to look any further than mythologies for your truths?
your statement suggests that if there is no god then there is no other choice, that thankfulness hinges on a deity, and that science is somehow all "chance" and "coincidence."
the mantra of the christian..."if i don't understand it, god did it."
to a lot of us this is unbelievably prideful and quasi stupid. and yet i do not go out of my way to try and expose to you through thinly veiled questions the enormity of the ignorance found in this particular point of view. go read a bible, die in it's pages and leave reality to the living.

oddly enought i don't thank my self.. I thank science and fact that when moisture gets to heavy it must fall and dence it will fall!!
What goes up must come down! Ever steamed veggies? with a clear pain!
Notice the cause is heat! (sun) or burner heat gives off more steam! it's inclosed and you can see the steam start to build on top of the lid!

no see that on a much larger scale!
Water is the key to life! with out you wouldn't be here no matter how you beleive in anything!

btw i do beleive in some sort of higher power but I don't beleive it as most think. I think it's a lot more complext and sienctific!

It's a given regularity of "nature" to rain and for the sun to shine and, for vegetables or trees to bear fruits. We call that "Nature". We can also act to make little things, like planting trees, build homes and invent the alphabets and build civilizations out of nothing. The fact is there is architecture in all things we engaged in. There seems to be a law that has made us do these puny things ourselves that is subject to a mightier law as only a main architect could do, and it's God.

The fact is, there are things in the Universe that Man does not understand and to assume the cause is a God does not make good sense.

I don't think the farmer that busted his @ss all day in the hot sun and spent a F-load of $ on irrigation thinks that the food he grew was of mere coincidence.
Do you not have enough pride that when you work hard for something and it turns out good that you can't give yourself any credit?

STOP PREACHING! Why do you feel the need to impose your beliefs on others? Most people are in awe of nature and all it provides without getting all worked up. No one-AND I MEAN NO ONE-knows for a fact how it all came to be. You are entitled to believe anything you want, as am I. Open your mind to ALL possibilities.

I thank the moisture that was collected by winds that formed the clouds and when those clouds became too saturated by a low pressure system that increased the moisture, released it down to the ground.

When a tornado touches down from one of those rainfalls do you thank god for the killing of people and destruction of homes???

Why do you think (all believers), that every good thing needs a payment?
I can drink, eat, love and enjoy without any sense of guilt...
if anyone give this life to me...its ok...but i dont feel like to give prayers every day to solve any obligation that "maybe" exist.
Accept the gift and be happy. I do it

I thank myself for working hard, making money, and going to buy the food I like. I thank myself for spending the time to teach myself to cook and serving decent meals to my family. I thank myself for composting what I do not use and returning it to my flower beds. I thank my government for providing the means to keep the roads open and hard-working people to keep food at my local supermarket. Geepers, god has nothing to do with any of this - leaves a fine taste in my mouth.
