And, what percentage is this offering of your take-home pay?
I am doing some "soul searching" and wondering if I need to give the church more than my weekly $10 offering (which is about 2% of my net income). I want to serve the Lord. Our pastor is not pressuring us in anyway.
Thank you fellow Christians.

I want to add that the horse in the picture was from my high school years. We are not currently living the carefree lifestyle of a "rich" person that might be able to afford such luxeries. Now that I'm no my own, married with one baby, we are making just enough to support ourselves. My husband has a horse, but that horse is an old retired cripple that we can't send to slaughter because he is like a famly member to us.

What my husband and I have found out is you can't out give God. The more we give and tithe the more he has blessed us.

Jesus cleans your heart all the time when you seek the Kingdom of Heaven. Wait -- volunteering? Jesus volunteers to clean your heart all the time when you seek the Kingdom of Heaven. Here's my plan: There must be multiple people from the congregation to clean the church now that the church is out of funds. This is how the top churches do it - their not found in the USA. Anyway, a Body supports itself, so money isn't necessary. So don't only clean for once a week, but clean only a section once a week. The organs of a body share the burden if once member goes down. The church must form a group of volunteers. A kidney doesn't function independent of the other organs -- they all support each other.

I give at least 10% - if not more. Those who aren't giving - you are using their lighting, tp, air conditioning, etc. and not giving back? How do you think the church pays for what you enjoy?
The bible says that those who are generous will be blessed themselves. Two weeks ago my husband told me to write a $50 check - and neither one of us has worked for 3 weeks so the money we had saved was for other things. But I did - and God provided.
Those of you that are not giving are missing the blessing of God in your lives!

The bible says 10 percent and that is what I do.
Listen to the bible and you will be serving the Lord.
God will bless you for you offerings. Don't worry about the loss of the income for your family. God will take care of you. You will not want.
Next time add that you only want practicing Christians to answer your question.

I am NOT tooting my own horn---
I give 10%, then
I give twice that amount to our 'benevolence fund'--- which is for people who get stuck in our town, by wreck on the interstate--or people who cannot afford their bills,(BUT ARE TRYING)----people who have to stay overnight at a hotel who need milk for their babies and the such,.
Our church people also give to the
building fund,
music fund,
youth dept.,
music dept.,
and so on---
In Memory of,.
In Honor of,..
and they give to all the departments in the church,.
to help keep money from coming out--instead STAYING in our account.
just to help finishing paying for our new church.
Plus we have a food closet where folks can just walk in this big closet and choose the groceries they need,
It is replinished by the kids bringing ONE can of something every FIFTH SUNDAY .
I LOVE our church.
God has blessed us INCREDIBLY!!!!
If you don't want to live from week to week on a paycheck--What I think you need to do is---WHEN you tithe that 10%------BELIEVE that God is using it to further His Kingdom--and that He WILL return it to you tenfold---IF you don't gripe while you give,
"The Lord loveth a cheerful giver,...."
DON'T LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW GOD

I got used to giving 10% of what I earned during the week for my tithe. Anyway, there isn't any pressure. Just give with an open heart.

We give about $200/month, which is about 5% of our take home...we praying about giving more b/c 5% doesn't seem like a lot, but with just being out of college we are still use to not having money, so it's hard to give a large amount.
Just follow your convictions...God will bless whatever you give out of a CHEERFUL heart b/c you want to give, not b/c you have too :-)
