Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith ...we need believing people.

Sounds familiar right? We basically hear this speech all the time on TV today.

I am amazed that we keep worrying about the "islamofascist" when we have the Talibabtists in the door already pushing their Christofascist agenda on our schoools.

Want to know who really said that?

- Adolf Hitler, April 26, 1933, speech made during negotiations leading to the Nazi-Vatican Concordant

I've always said that the public school system is warped...........ever since theistic ideaology was pulled out from it.
Bottom line is this:
When you pull God out of anything......it will not last.
A house divided against itself cannot stand......and America is a house divided against itself these days.

Firstly, just because Hitler says something does not make it untrue. If Hitler said the sky was blue, would you have to look outside?

Second, what Christofascists? Fascists are really good at using violence to push there agenda. When was the last time you heard of someone being beaten up for being an atheist?

The asker sent me some links about Atheists being attacked for being atheists. I had honestly not heard of such a thing, but it apparently happens.

Third, the debate about religion in this country is a natural result. The debate about what the phrase "Freedom of Religion" and the phrase "State Religion" mean are still being waged, even 200+ years on. Certain things have been decided. While the founders thought "Freedom of Religion" meant freedom to practice Christianity anyway you wanted. We now think of it as the freedom to follow any religion or none at all. (Well almost any. No baby sacrificing devil worshipers please.)

Now the debate is centered on people who think it is perfectly OK to express religious thought in public places, and people who wish to have "Freedom FROM Religion". It is going to take a long time for this debate to pan out, but in another 200 years or so the USA will have come to some kind of conclusion about it and there will be a different debate.

If you don't think that attitudes about government and religion have changed, I suggest you go read George Washington's Thanksgiving day speech.

Education has always had a "spiritual" background to it. It is inately a "sacred" task. Look through history.

Regarding what Adolf Hitler said.... It amazes me that people quote him, as if that proves something about religion or atheisim... He was an exceptionally evil, devious and dubious character. To take anything he said out of the context of politcally motivated for world domination is a mistake of the first order.

You might want to go with the 'Founding Fathers' instead, who certainly did advocate the separation of church and state.
