Wouldn't he wait until we matured a little bit as a species? I mean how is it that he did so much 6000-2000 years ago but recently his works have not been known? But we must have faith while he is on vacation for 2000 years? Would't he just do some sort of a press conference (like the president) and tell us how he created everything and what laws he expects us to live by and do it translated into every language to avoid the contradictions we have today?

Don't kill OT (God)
Exodus 20:13 Thou shall not murder (ten commandments)

Do kill (God)
Deuteronomy 13:6-10 If your wife son or best friend asks you to worship other gods you are to put them to death.

Don't kill NT (Jesus)
Matthew 22:39 Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Do kill NT (Jesus)
Luke 19:27 Those who did not believe, bring hither, and slay them before me.

Do you see contradiction? Don't even get me started on the skewed sense of science....See Genesis 1:1-50:26 for Starters.

Not sure if they are still writing or not but the christians seem to be avoiding this question like the plague? I guess they don't like it when atheists uses their holy book as evidence of contradiction promoting violence, after all they like to think they are more just than the Muslims don't they...

I love that, it is given out of context response...Jesus said it, it was during a parable, but why did jesus speak in parables? To confuse people (read luke matthew and mark) and his confusion is what makes it easy for things to be taken out of context. If the bible were perfect then it could not be taken out of context...Therefore God did not write it or guide the hands that wrote it (or translated it or edited it)

Luke 19:27 out of context you took one line from the parable of "A nobleman"
Would we have matured as a species? Was that a turning poin in history.
If there was a press conference..where would faith play a part. and where would mans freedom to chose come in.
God could have made us robots if compliance was all he wanted
The Mosaic laws were harsh. Even Jesus said so. "Because"
of the hardness of mans heart". The worshipping of other gods wasn't nice peaceful happy pagans that could be found elsewhere. They were baby killers, that laid living babies on a fiery alter to sizzle to death.

Oraganized religion gives the weak minded something to believe in. the bible was written AND EDITED by man. Men who wanted to control people. Best way is to get them to believe in an all powerfull being that will condem them to hell if they don't act right. Why does God let children be killed, raped, what did a little child do do deserve such a wrath...it's all BS. Oh, that's right, he gave us free will to conduct our lives as we see fit...how convienant. But if a miracle happens it's "God's will" give me a break. Why didn't God save that 3 year old girl being raped time and time again by that fruit cake in Arizona?? Please....

All mythologies are fraught with inconsistencies and illogicalities. That's why they are called "myths." At one time every mythology was a current religion; when they fall out of favor is when they are relegated to the dusty shelf called Myth.

And so it will eventually be Christianity. Just another myth that happens to be the current one.

Jesus did a press conference when he was here on earth 2000 years ago and nobody believed him. He had lots of discussions with the scribes. I wonder who the scribes were... could it be the equivalent of todays media? scribe... writer? he will do a press conference when eveything is all over and say "see I told ya"

Those are not contradictions at all. Death is not forbidden in scripture. To murder an innocent person is wrong. To put someone to death to cleanse the land of their evil is right. To defend ones country by killing is right .To put a rapist to death is right .To murder an innocent infant is wrong. It is how and what and who is killed not just killing itself.
