Evolution is not against anyone's religion, it's a fact, that's why it's discussed in science not Religious Studies.

As a fellow Christian I will advise you as such: Evolution is scientific fact and, therefore, should be studied science classes. If it goes against your religion, then I would say there's a problem with your religion. In reality, evolution does not contradict Christianity in the least bit. Religion on the other hand is a little more subjective. Although personally I believe that my religion is rational, logical, the path to true happiness, and can be proven, it cannot be proven mathematically or scientifically like evolution can.
Also, I think you have to see it with the shoe on the other foot. What if Satanism was the dominant religion in the US? Would you want that taught in schools? In that case a satanist could say the exact same thing you're saying right now and it would not be any different.

First off, why should evolution be against any religious teachings? Maybe when God created the world he included evolution as a way for the species to adapt to a changing environment.
Evolution has some supporting evidence, enough to make it a compelling theory. There is no religion at all that has any supporting evidence of any kind. That makes it fantasy/mythology. It is not the school's job to teach you crap; it's you that has it backwards.

As a christian I do not force my ideas or beliefs on others. In fact, I have studied other religions to get a broader horizon on who we are and what we're about. The Koran is very similar to the Christian Bible. I also have a B.S. in Biology/Chemistry, so I do believe in evolution. It is possible to believe in both. I would say that Evolution is real from a Creationist stand point. The universe is just to complex to have formed from matter exploding w/ anti-matter w/out assistance from a higher power.

That's a lie. You're free to talk about religion, just not receive religious instruction. I don't walk into your Sunday school and quiz you, asking you to define evolution, for example. (Seems like you'd all fail.)
Evolution is taught in science class. Religion is not a science. Since evolution can be observed, done in a lab and replicated, any religion calling it a lie is, itself, a lie.
Luckily, Christianity doesn't teach that. Not believing what you can see, tough, taste and smell because some MEN told you to is against the Bible.
PS: Define evolution.

Your profile name is perfect.
Here is what you don't usually hear from public speakers.
Religion is not allowed in school because religion causes people to behave terribly. Evolution can be discussed and people can disagree with it all day without a punch being thrown.
Religion doesn't work that way. If you get a bunch of really religious people, who really believe in their specific teachings and doctrine in one room, it is just a matter of time till the fists start flying. That isn't an environment that I want my child in.

Well, evolution is science rather you believe in it or not. They teach science in school. You wouldn't want alternative believes to gravity taught would you? even if there are people who believe in "intelligent falling"? Or how about teach a flat earth? They teach science. You don't have to accept the science, but that is how public schools are run.

People study religions in schools every day. There are many religion courses.
The difference is studying versus preaching that any religion is the "true" one.
If scientific realities "go against" your religion I'd suggest a change.

Time out...
Evolution SHOULD BE taught in grades. Meaning, evolution as it refers to the adaptation of species is 100% Scientific fact. Species adapt over time to become better suited to their environment. (called microevolution)
HOWEVER
Macroevolution, the idea that all species came from bacteria, and that man came from Monkies is not FACT. It hasn't ever been demonstrated and in 10,000 years of recorded history we have never seen the emergence of a new species from an existent one. It is a way to explain how we came to be here.

I agree....we should have equality in our schools on this subject but we don't perhaps people are too afraid there really is something more than what the eye can see.
and to those who think evolution is a scientific fact! think again evolution is a believe and is made up of speculation and not scientific fact that's why it is called a "THEORY"..... besides i've never seen a fish come out of the water grow 4 legs and be renamed "dog"..that is just foolishness....but funny!!!...
