Lots of people point to the suffering, but many have suffered a lot more than that and died permanently. Also, human suffering would be a pinprick to a god.
I would be more than willing to incur twice the suffering that Jesus supposedly did if I could live a happy eternity sitting on the right hand of God. Of course, if Jesus is God, then he's sitting on the right side of himself, which doesn't make much sense either, but that's a separate issue.

Jesus Christ, the son of God did have his blood shed as we see when the Roman officer went to check whether those crucified were dead yet. He was surprised to see that Jesus was already dead so he put his sword in Jesus' side and we are told that out came blood and water. The water it seems would be as a result of his lungs filling with water because of the way he was hanging. Also, the nails going through the hands/wrists and feet would have bled. If anyone has the imagination to think about the anguish Jesus went through when he was praying in the Garden before he was arrested, for we are told that his sweat fell as drops of blood. This was a dreadful experience that he had to go through and although he had told his disciples what would happen they didn't even understand let alone sympathise. Jesus had a crown of harsh thorns rammed down on his head and he was beaten, blood shed there for sure. When Jesus appeared to the disciples after his resurrection they were able and encouraged to touch him for he told them that a spirit doesn't have flesh and blood as he did. Later Thomas was also to see Jesus and feel the wounds. Atonement: at-one-ment, that is being at one with the LORD God through our baptism in water into the saving name of Jesus. Jesus has redeemed true believers by his shed blood which we, as a church/ecclesia, remember in bread and wine each week together. If we wish to be in the Book of Life we must try and obey God and remember His son. Resurrection was the proof of all that the Old Testament Scriptures taught. That was why Abraham trusted God for he knew right back then that God could do all things.

you don't appear to understand what happened.
The LORD requires that all sin be dealt with. He requires justice be satisfied, but the sacrifice has to be perfect and no one could do that apart from God himself. So the Son came on our behalf and took our just and righteous punishment.
although I do not understand what this means, Jesus Christ who was without sin, became seperated or spiritually dead for us, and over came death (the spiritual one) proving he was God incarnate. When he had made atonement for sin, he said, it is finished, and dismissed his spirit into the hands of his Father. On the 3rd day, he was resurrected.
The physical death of Jesus was real. Yours will also be real. However, like Jesus you will be resurrected on the resurrection of the Just, or at the last day with the resurrection of the damned. But your physical death will be temporary.
Had Jesus not risen from the dead, every last word he spoke would have been without value. He claims to be God, but if he just died, big deal. my dogs have all died apart from my new puppy, and I don't see any difference in road kill or Jesus if he did not rise from the dead.
Keep that in mind. If Jesus is not raised from the dead, he is not God, but a liar and probably a demon, for he says, trust me alone for salvation.
I have yet to meet anyone who had the crediencials to make that statement and be trusted apart from Jesus

Jesus suffered and died the death you are to die on judgment day if you don't except him as your savior, the shedding of his blood covers your sins, and his Resurrection shows victory over death so he can sit at the right hand of the Father and say you belong to him and you will have no part in the second death. Blessed are those you have no part in the second death, that death destroys your soul. Jesus was born and died to reconcile man back to G-D to be the advocate between man and G-D, he took the place of Adam who failed. The perfect son of man. Don't fear man who can only destroy the body but fear G-D who can destroy body and soul. If their was no Jesus you would be resurrected to be judged and to have your eternal soul destroyed. Just as Satan will be. What good would it do if Jesus just died and was not resurrected their would be no advocate between man and G-D. His suffering and death would have been for nothing.

The answer to your question depends on whether one believes in the Bible. If one does not, then it is a non-issue.
If one does, then one has to believe in the Biblical account, i.e.,
1. He was guiltless (Pilate said, "I find no fault in him").
2. False witness were bribed to testify against him.
3. He died for the sins of others.
Sacrifice = destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else.
The fact that He was resurrected indicates that his sacrifice was accepted by God.
How many would sign up for crucifixion to die for the sins of others?
Yes, I'd say his death was a sacrifice.

A sacrifice is when the physical body is destroyed. Jesus died and then his spirit body rose from his physical body. Reborn again.
Jesus does appear to those with pure heart. Those that serve God with good intentions can feel the Holy Spirit and be visited by Jesus in your dreams. The spirit realm is a different dimension than the physical. Once you grasp this concept, maybe it will help you understand more of how the concept of eternal life is described.
Your spirit body lives forever. You will find Jesus in do time. And if you accept Jesus as your guide, he will also come to you. Have faith.

You misunderstand!
Without the shedding of his perfect blood to the point of his death, there could not, can not be any redemption of our sins.
Thus the Christian today who puts faith in this ransom will be saved if he is obedient to Christ's commandments.

It worked very much on a per-cost basis. You go to the store, you see the price tag of $5 dollars for an object. If you give the clerk five dollars for this, you have just bought yourself that object.
Adam sinned and lost human perfection. Through the eye for and eye divine principle, Christ paid with his perfect lifeblood -- this is what provides the ransom.

He was tortured for more than 18 hours, crucified and hung on the cross for three hours, then stabbed with a spear when He was already dead. Then He came back to appear to everyone to prove He is resurrected. Isn't that sacrifice enough for you?

Good question.
I believe Jesus sacrificed a part of His divinity. In other words, a part of His divine life which is offered as eternal life to those who will be redeemed, just like a seed which itself 'dies' to give life to the new plant.
We are told that He has taken upon Himself the human nature to retain it forever. He will bear those marks of crucifixion in His hands and feet for all eternity, as a reminder of what it took to eradicate sin, which means He will always have a physical body. God and angels are spirit beings and do not have physical bodies. For us it would be difficult to imagine what exactly is involved in losing one's 'spirit status'. And the status that Jesus has now is given to Him by God (the Father) because of His sacrifice.
"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name." (Phil. 2:9).

So you don't think dying slowly of starvation and dehydration while NAILED to a cross would be any sort of sacrifice?
I don't believe in the whole Jesus thing, but you can't say that wouldn't have been a sacrifice, if it really happened. I don't see the point, but it would have been some kind of sacrifice.
