I think this describes millions and millions of Christians who form a silent majority in the Western World.

We hold many so called 'liberal' viewpoints with regards to the bible. But still believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ and his full, physical, and corporeal resurrection.

We believe He performed all the miracles that the bible claims, and that He was born of a virgin. After all, through God all of these things are possible.

But we see Genesis as an allegory, and view the theory of evolution simply as a description of how God created the universe.

And we see many Christians getting hung up on things like sexual immorality, homosexuality, etc, and not paying enough attention to poverty, hunger, and the incredible greed of the richer nations.

Does this describe your Christian faith and viewpoints?

Uh, no. Science is under the rule of God, He wrote the laws and He has the power to rewrite them and make exception to them re parting the Red Sea and walking on water).

You do have a point about the importance of serving our fellow man but I think many Christians are aware of that focus and you just don't realize it. One example if the Samritan's Purse organization which feeds people of other nations who are starving.

As for getting hung up on immorality, I don't think hung up is the right word. We realize it is a part of the moral decay in the world and are concerned. We are called to be the salt of the earth. It is our job to preserve the standards that God gave. If you think that's a hangup, then you are entitled to your opinion.

No not in the least. First I would like to state that Christians donate a great deal to fight off poverty and hunger. You can't blame them for the greed of richer nations. Everyone member of society is guilty of that. Having grown up with the Bible and science I never saw where they were at great odds with each other. Big Bang theory..and Let there be light. Virgin birth and parthenogenesis. God made man from the dust of the Earth. Man is a carbon based life form. Eve was the mother of all...Mitochondrial DNA..shows we all began from on mother. God made the world in six days..what is a day to God..he wasnt' using the Earth and Sun ..they weren't made yet..

NO. Do you serve a god that pathetic? If so why bother. Science has shown me just how AWESOME God really is. have you ever really looked at the bs. of evolution? "one small change leads to anther to another.... blah blah, blah. that is so goofy. Look at it like this, a mouse trap. plank of wood, catches no mice. plank of wood with triger, catches no mice, plank of wood with spring, on and on , it does not work. There are changes in a species, yes. people are biger, they are smaller, some fat some thin. but you will not find one example of a species, changing into a new species. half fish, half rat. it does not exsist.

God formed man with his hands. God breathed the breath of life into him. That is not evolving , that is Creation. DNA, in its self, proves beyond a doubt, that chance is a joke, it could NEVER happen. As to your getting hung up on immorality,

Jesus said it best. You are luke warm. I would rather you be hot or cold, but because you are luke warm, I will spit you out.

Chose this day who you will serve, as for me and my House, I WILL SERVE THE LORD.

no faith is not shaken.
never it will be! Only i have to free my self from stories around Jesus. You know as in present days people have forgotten the basics. If you read Jesus or any religions deep you will see they said so and so for others to think about their sayings-but think w e missed to understand it for we (our ancestors inclusive)were not allowed to question religious scripture and for good reasons-think why). Now with democracy- other word for liberties- thinking is possible esp.in the states (mean the USA and other parts of the world)
Well faith atl religions have to be unshakable if we only understand them-individually!
You asked for view points, I have faith my own way on Jesus.OK.

Truth is absolute and can stand the test of times.

Manmade theologies need to be changed as the time goes on because it is imperfect as man is imperfect.
