scholarly commentaries that discuss the moral/ethical/philosophical issues in the text are preferred, but I'm open to any serious and knowledgable suggestions.

I just started Job last night...it's a very good/intense book!!!
I normally go to Crosswalk.com and they have a Bible Study Tool's section, and under that they have commentaries you can chose from to use online. There are a few listed under there, and all are good, you can check them out and see which one works best for you. Most are for the New Testament, but the Matthew Henry and the Wesley one's are decent.

God makes bet with satan, god kills job's family to prove a point to his angels and satan. God wins bet and job gets a new family.
