Until the discovery the texts of Ugarit in 1929 and following years, one could deny the existence of the Asherah Goddess, in the Bible and certain researchers identified it by error as being Astaroth/Astarté. Today, not only it seems a principal Goddess in the texts of Ugarit, but it is clearly identified in the Bible, in spite of the repression exerted by the official religion. Many archaeological texts found in the south of Israel reveal a notable relation with YHWH.
