Well Christy, you and I and everyone else understand that this isn't a Christ-like way to behave.... but who gives a darn about that - Christ was probably a made-up character anyhow, (Nobody really knows.) So here's the real deal...
Your response and this post seem a little on the passive-aggressive side, don't they? Weren't you getting your revenge in the best way you could - by exposing the low-life attitude of the person who stooped so far into the gutter as to call you names and offer threats? I think you were doing exactly that.... Well, good for you....! Hurray..! You were right to do it...!
We don't have to take rudeness from others, from individuals who are so selfish that they feel it's their place to deride the opinions and the thinking of reasonable minded people, and we don't have to respect their stupid religious beliefs, not those of the rude individuals nor those of the perfectly behaved. Their rudeness, if they display it, is their problem and it ought to be exposed in the best way you can so that it is halted; their goofy and unfounded beliefs, if they advertise them and tout them as fact, are likewise their problem and it's about time to let them know how very foolish and unreasonable they are to believe them....
Tolerance for someone's shortcomings, like for a disability or for an impairment, is quite the right attitude to take, but tolerance for willful ignorance is not. To close one's eyes and keep ones mouth shut does no good for anyone. The foolish person will remain foolish, our society will still have him to deal with, (just as foolish,) tomorrow and the future generation, his own children and perhaps ours, may assume that it's all OK to just let it ride as it is ... just ignore it ... Hogwash...! It's not OK...!
I stand by you and by the action you've taken 100%. I sincerely hope that you won't have to suffer such an insult again. and once again, I applaud your action.

It's sad that this has happened to you, but I am used to it now. There are a lot of hypocrites out in the world today who call themselves Christians but don't follow the teachings of Christ. When you believe something other than they believe, they lash out with anger and hate. Maybe they don't know any better, what I have noticed are most are uneducated people. I never read in the Bible where Christ called anyone a stupid w****, maybe they left that part out. Christ message is one of love and forgiveness, not hate and war. As LDS, I get a lot of hate from people, telling me what I choose the believe is wrong, some say it in nice ways and have a discussion about it, others prefer the "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL IF YOU DON'T CHANGE YOUR WAYS, YOU HEATHEN", those are the ones I block out and ignore, why listen to someone who would rather yell then discuss. Remember the spirit of hate is that of the devil and should be avoided. So if you start lashing out in hate towards someone, perhaps you should check yourself.

I cringe when I see Christians doing things like this. I can only imagine how the Lord must feel. Christians were meant to spread the good news. but certainly this isn't the way. You were to show others by your deeds.
I have noticed a huge increase in hate in this forum, on both sides. I have had atheist say some very hurtful things. I can only guess it's confused and hurting kids. I felt so depressed the other day I was thinking of quiting "answers".

I do not condone this behavior as a Christian, nor do I think it helps any ones cause in anyway. It is most certainly not a Christ like thing to do. As a Christian I must do the same as Jesus did and show love to all of mankind even if I don't fully agree or understand their views.
MY apologies to you on behalf of a man trying to walk in the footsteps of a great man, Jesus!

How can anyone not believe that Jesus Christ is The Lord and Savior and yet expect His Grace in any measure.
Matthew 21:12: And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.
It's very easy for people to become zealots regarding their beliefs. In reality I'm supposed to tell you that Christ died and was resurrected for your sins and your spiritual salvation is though him. After that, it's up to you. That being said, if there are questions asked, then I can use that opportunity to spread the Good News of Christ.
Being hostilely blunt usually is not a effective way to send any message, having hate in it would be a sin.
I will pray for your salvation.

You got off easy. I've had my share of hate mail and I have never understood what prompts people to be so angry simply because someone believes differently than they do.
I can only think that some sort of self superiority comes into play when they send mail like that.

You are a nonbeliever who knows Christ? God bless you and keep you through the trial you endure. Do not allow satan to pervert what you know of Christ. The enemy is deceitful and can even appear as an angel of light. Do not let those who appear as Christians adulterate God's word in your heart. What you have known from the beginning is true, pursue. The Lord will judge over mankind, it is not ours to take his place now. Fear the Lord's judgement and only give love to those encountered here wether they be friends or enemies (we do not have the perspective to say). Peace upon your journey, pray the Spirit comfort you.

OMG. please do not think this is typical christian behavior...nope, it is not Christ like, and that person that sent you that WILL have to answer for it...if you get another one, tell them, simply--"I never knew you"; they'll get it. (if they have ever even read a Bible.) I can't answer why some people think they have to be so friggin' STUPID and act so childish...and you are absolutely right, that would be a HUGE turnoff to me in regards to christianity, if i were a nonbeliever. shoot, even being a believer, i have chosen churches to visit based on the behavior and actions of the members...if they "practiced" something i didn't believe was in the Bible, or misconstrued the teachings of Jesus, that would be my first and last visit to that church....ALL THAT to say; please don't think all christians are like that...some of us actually love Jesus enough to want to be like Him.

you have a reliable component. valid question/question. No, Jesus would not deliver hateful mail to everyone. by no potential has, by no potential does. even while God, via His be conscious (consequently Jesus) communicates to three one immediately it somewhat is in Love, in spite of the worst messages. you're thoroughly good and we are all nicely reminded to think of in that way approximately our solutions. i comprehend I sit down right here corrected. TY And no there isn't "catholic" interior the Bible. What there is, is the term solidarity. Catholic because it initially meant replaced into "familiar" mutually with interior the assumption of all Believers in Jesus are one physique, one fellowship, joined via the undemanding indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God. that's what "Catholic" meant in it is beginning up years. only a affirmation that each and every physique who referred to as upon the call of Jesus Christ (in however language, Latin, or however) have been one in God. not that i'm Catholic (the denomination) however the assumption is valid, the be conscious now not works because of the fact of it is long status Roman Catholic identifications. actuality is, maximum Catholics do not comprehend Jesus in my view and are too afraid of Psychology''s condemnation of "listening to from God' to take action. Shalom, to you for pointing all this out.

*sigh* ... those people are part of the reason why I left Christianity. If they really expect to convert people, they're going about it completely wrong. They're just going to push people even further away.
As Gandhi put it, "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ." Sadly, many (not all, but many) of the people around here prove him right.
I like what ddking said below. Just tell them "I never knew you." Devastating words from Jesus' own mouth. By their fruits, you will know them.
