You can usually use them in cash machines, but beware because there is usually a charge for withdrawing cash (a fixed fee or a percentage of the amount you withdraw) on a credit card, AND you will usually be charged a different (higher) rate of interest on cash advances than you would be on purchases. Check with your card issuer exactly what the terms are.

Yes to both questions. To access at a cash machine, you'll need a pin number. At a bank counter it's called a cash advance. Be aware that the interest on these is usually between 22 and 25 percent.

Yes. But I would call your credit card company. Some offer an option to transfer money directly to your bank account. There might be a limit on how many times you can do this and maybe a cash limit also. But is is cheaper than doing a cash advance-and it may be free.

You can use it at most cash machines, check there signs for visa etc . But there is normally a charge, mine is £5 per withdrawal. so over the counter (which you can do) is better for cash, as there is no charge.

Yes. You need your PIN at a cash machine and at a counter you *might* need proof of ID.

You can use a cc at an ATM, but you should also have a PIN number. Usually, they charge a hefty amount of interest for cash withdrawls.
