What's stops atheists from forming "survival of the fittest" factions? For now we know this is a bad political position to take, but is it incompatible with atheism?

Good point. Atheism promotes the concept of racism by promoting the survival of the fittest, Hitler used it to justify mass extinction of an entire race he considered 'inferior'.

Why would any rational person want "survival of the fittest" factions?
It is much easier to believe in all being equal, especially as we don't believe that there is any "chosen people".

well the "all men created" part was a direct contradiction to the "king" theory that god made the king better than everyone else...
it's not incompatible, because all humans are "born" equal, at least in the eyes of our governement..
of course this doesnt exactly hold water because $$$$ talks.....

cant speak for others just myself-all men are not created equal-unfortunatly with governments today survival of the fittest no longer holds true-do hope that this is not the ultimate downfall of the human race-------enjoy the day

Equality is under the law, everyone knows that our bodies aren't born equal, and our minds are not-but we must be treated equal under the law, and those that are not atheist are probably thinking more along the lines of-the soul was created equal..anyways..

Nothing but our TRUE morality.Morality isn't doing or not doing something because a god told you to do so.By that token,all prisoners are law abiding.They HAVE to be.Such is with Christianity.If you need a god to write in stone 1)don't murder
2)don't steal
3)don't bang your neighbors wife/husband
you are not moral at all,you are simply doing things for fear of hell.True morality is doing/not doing actions with NO FEAR of hell or judgment."Because god said so"is not a moral position at all.Because I WANT TO,is the test of true morality

Atheists are more of the "live and let live" kind of people. I think it is more plausible for the christians to go and do a "believe in our god or die" campaign.

Forming "factions" of any kind is pretty incompatible with being Atheist.
