The total sum of mass and energy, all the "stuff" of the universe is constant; it didn't originate.
It's obvious that people who insist that the universe was created by a god with no beginning do have the ability to conceive of something existing without having to have a beginning, so there's no reason they would have to insist that the universe had to be created.

Who created the creator? What was there before He created the Universe? There must have been something there if He was there. Maybe we all should start admitting that we have no clue or understanding or ability to understand any of this and no religion or book has any better idea.

Possibly a multiverse exists, meaning our universe is just one bubble on a foam of universes that have existed eternally.
More recent evidence shows that nothingness is unstable and that "something" is inevitable.
Both have more evidence supporting than "God."
