There are very good commercial bagged foods. However, whenever you cook food over 120 degrees, you kill all vitamins, minerals, probiotics and enzymes. When you read the label, at the end of the ingredients' list, all that stuff is added back in. It's like eating popcorn, and then supplementing with multi-vitamin... every day of your life!
DO: use food with meat as the first ingredient, grain-free.
DON'T: use food with ethoxoquin, BHA, BHT, by-products, wheat, corn, soy.
Try raw, freeze-dried, or dehydrated.

I used to feed my first dog only on commercial dog food however that was six years ago. She died of cancerat the age of 5. I then read about what is in commercial dog food and came across an article that stated that commercial dog food causes many problems in dogs such as runny poo, tooth decay, unhealthy coats and “cancer”. I learned the hard way however now I feed my new dogs home made. Its cheaper, no preservatives, no chemicals, no toxins etc ect. I suppose I’m a bit old fashioned in a way, however I find that what’s natural will always be best. If I wouldn’t eat canned or dried chips everyday I don’t expect my dogs too either and why would I? natural and fresh will "always" be better than something sealed in a bag and sitting on the shelfs in the store for months, there is no question about that. I suppose I do feed my dogs kibble but only sparingly and I don’t mind spending more money buying a brand that has good reports such as Royal Canine.
Completely agree with you!

Mine are on Innova Evo and do devour it and thrive on it. The stools are normal (well formed) and the only stink was during the switch over, which is now gone. I do think you can feed your dog a "superb diet" from a bag if chosen correctly.

Honestly, I don't dwell too much on my dogs poop unless they'd start squirting on my shoes. I raw feed, have done for 5 years, and if I was picking up watery, pasty, stinking poop for days I'd take a fecal sample in for a worm check - hasn't happened yet.

My dogs would gladly pick the rotten food in the trash over any dog food. Not too concerned about high priced "superb diet" Purina worked for the hogs and cattle and dogs and cats for several decades with no parvo in sight.

I have 5 Chihuahuas on Canidae All Life Stages. They also devour and thrive on it, and their stools have always been perfectly normal! Never had a problem with that issue!

Meat and canned food may do this. But most dry dog foods are fairly good. In fact, I have been using Purina for the past 25 years with no bad effects.

Ahhh you must be referring to the "complete nutrition" of corn meal, meal of corn is more like it! Oh and shame on me for not including the ever so yummy chicken biproducts. Oh hurl!
People do it because it's easy and until the standards and regulations change then the food won't change. There are IMHO better brands but they aren't ever seen at the grocery stores and super stores. We'll just have to remain confused.LOL

I think you're confused in general. Most people never, ever think about dog poop unless it's their day to clean up the yard.
