No. They have a different opinion than you have. What could be MORE American than that? It's people who think that having a different opinion on political issues is unamerican who are unamerican.

People who think illegal immigration is "no big deal" have their heads buried in the sand. Illegals are impacting our economy, levels of crime, and culture to a frightening degree. Those of us who live in the Los Angeles, California area are seeing it clearly. People in other parts of the country where the problem exists, but to a smaller degree (for the time being) probably aren't as concerned, but they will be as the problem grows worse. The United States is well worth preserving, but too many Americans don't realize what a great country we have traditionally been. When it ceases to exist as we know it, we will all lament its passing.

How is it unamerican to simply hold a viewpoint that others disagree with? I'd say that's the very essence of what it is to be an American.

Although I vehemently disagree with that opinion, it's Jim's right to have and express it, if he is a citizen.
If he is not an American citizen then as far as I am concerned he doesn't have a right to anything regarding this great country of ours. Our constitution doesn't cover illegal immigrants...

Alright I'm sick and tired of comparing me to illegal immigrants. just because my grand father came here from Italy on a boat. There is a big difference.....
He came here legally! I'm all for immigration if it's legal. It is the backbone of our country. People that support illegal immigration are morons.
Thank you

Not unamerican.... just unintelligent. Immigration is a good thing, mind you. But we need to know who is coming into our country, and people coming in should respect our laws. Most illegal immigrants reside here, pay little or no taxes, drain our system or resources, and send their money back to (usually) Mexico, actually hurting our economy. We do need an influx of immigrants each year, yes, but legal immigrants who obey our laws and contribute positively to our society.

Having an opinion and expressing it freely is TOTALLY American, dude!!
I think it's more people like you who can't stand having their opinion debated and challenged that are unamerican.
Democracy is a principle that is held high, and that means freedom to have opinions. I'd much rather listen to an opinion I don't agree with than worry about getting picked up by organizations like the Tonton Macoutes.

Until about 10 years ago, I would have said the same thing. Truth is, he probably sees only what the news outlets show and has, so far, been spared the crushing hell of seeing entire cities turned from orderly American communities into 3rd world cesspools.
Until I'd been chased by a couple of glassy-eyed crack-heads with weapons, till I'd seen 14 year-old boys drinking cases of beer by their pickups, relieving themselves openly in broad daylight, tossing bottles on the ground (with trash dumpsters in reach), and until I'd seen this kind of thing over and over to the point of exhaustion, I wanted to believe all people reach adulthood with some level of civility.
Now, though, I realize that just isn't the truth. Civility is learned.

Yes it is no big deal because it does not affect the vast majority of us.
What is a big deal is we are not planning for our future, and more importantly, our children's future.
We'll ague about lead in their toys, but we will not secure their future.
We have no idea where America is heading. For instance, ask any American what the future plan for America is, and you'll get a deer in the headlight stare. Ask any Chinese what China's plans are for the future and they'll point to their 1 and 5 year plans that took them from an economic has-been to world class in only 20 years.
Globalization has leveled the playing field for many countries, even the USA. Therefore, the old economic concepts are no longer going to work and what we must do is plan, instead of muddling along which worked fine for decades because we were really the only game in town.
The bottom line:
America is failing at its future and in turn failing its children.
==========
Thumbs down from the ones who don't want a plan for our future, or our children, but just want divisive politics.......LISTEN UP PEOPLE, THE ILLEGALS ARE BEING DEALT WITH, MAYBE NOT FAST ENOUGH FOR YOUR TASTES BUT AREN'T YOUR CHILDREN FAR MORE IMPORTANT? ISN'T AMERICA'S FUTURE JUST AS IMPORTANT?
==========
Peace
Jim
