Most weddings I've been to put them in small personalized cake boxes. We bought ours at the link below.

Here are a few sites that have some real pretty cake favor boxes. The tuxedo and wedding dress boxes that you are talking about are tiny. By no means big enough to fit a piece of cake. Those boxes are mainly for mints or chocolates or something tiny. Hope this helps, and good luck!

no I have not seen them but yet I have never heard of giving the cake to guests as they leave either. The weddings I have gone to have always served the cake while the bride & groom were dancing then the father daughter, mother-son dance. I guess this is something new?

Check the Wilton Cake site. They have little cake boxes, for individual slices. Some even come with designs and handles. You can also check your local Party City store or any type of party supply store.

Why can't your guests just eat the cake there? Wedding cake is the best. I don't want to take it home with me and get it all over my car. I want to eat it at my table.

maybe a card/party store or hallmark. i have to tell you though, guests may take the cake home but, it's usually garbage by the time it gets there and it gets thrown out. those cakes are very pricey to be thrown away. why not just serve it and save the money?

The bakery doing your cake should have small boxes available for just that purpose. If not, one of their suppliers can provide them. I haven't seen bags used in years. Everyone in my area uses boxes.

I know it doesn't really answer your question, but I would really rather eat the cake at the reception. I tend to throw away leftovers... including cake.
After my reception, I didn't even eat my own leftover cake. I took it with me to a family picnic the next day and tried to pass it off to everyone else.

Why would anyone give cake as a favor? It's messy and unwanted.

Why can't they eat it there, I personally hate cake as a favor and never take it. I don't want cake in my purse or in my car.
