You've not indicated where you're located...but there are many law enforcement agencies looking for responsible and disciplined applicants all the time.

Some agencies look for certified officers but many have the budgets to send applicants through the academy.

One source for law enforcement positions is located in the source block below. Check the section under employment opportunities. Additionally, you can check your surrounding area at the nearby agencies.

You can also check your local business directory for security companies which don't require any type of police background for a position with them!

Best wishes.

Look in your Local Yellow pages that will give you all the local security companies, then you can just send CV's in. Look on the internet for local companies as well.

Door supervisors/bouncers I think is who you know really they are very clicky and unless you know someone who knows someone then I'm not sure really. I spose you could ask the people who work the doors?

hello, there are two things to consider before looking for a job in this field, first off, your husband will have to have a CRO check done(criminal record check),there are 2 types, the one he will need is called a full disclosure and will need to be clear of any criminal record for 20 years from the date of application, this clearance is needed for whatever type of security work he goes after, this document is available from the police.he will also need a licence to work the doors and this comes from the your local council after the CRO check is done and is clear, the money in security is not great, lot of hours to earn a decent wage and as for working the doors, think about it first,is the money worth a glass in the face?,i dont think so,if you email me at( george3rgj@yahoo.co.uk )i can give you a pointer to where the real money is in this game,do not want to place info here,I'm ex brit/military and been in security over 20 years, would be glad to help.

it's called pounding the payment. just got to go out and hustle. your husband is in the same boat as any 18-19 year old looking for their first job (i'm assuming); his is an empty resume. his best bet is an entry level position. he does have one advantage, that being military service, and that does count with some.

might as well start from the beginning building a resume. on this resume list education and experience. list any special training that is relevant. it is possible to make a relatively slim resume attractive to prospective employers and i would urge him to put some thought into crafting a resume. then, and this is what i always found successful, do a mass mailing. he should start sending out lots of copies to anyone who might benifit from his skills and experience. this has always worked verry well for me. good luck to you both. i'm a vet; i understand the struggle of adjustment to civilian life.

Just because your husband is from the army, it does NOT make him qualified to be a door supervisor in the UK.

He must do the training and get a permit first.

I am a armed security guard in Oklahoma and there are a few steps in this state to obtain licensing. you will have to check you state for regulations. it is best to go to a place that uses-es guards and ask questions on how, when, where and all of that.... when in bought ask questions every state is different...

Hi
Well he will have to obtain a SIA licence, these are not cheap, but often if you join a local firm they will sponsor you. when you have this, then you can become a bouncer.
Or as many police forces are crying out for fit persons, apply, i doubt he will fail on a paper sift or physical, just the assesment, but it does take a few months.
good luck!

Contact the major companies, Group4 etc, never apply for a bouncers job. try this link

The big firms are always looking for ex forces staff, saves them a fortune in vetting. Phone them up and they will snap him up :)
60 hour shifts tho. hopes this helps.
