Heh, probably because spirituality would allow for freedom, and we can’t have that in a church, now can we? It’s hard to control people when they have their own beliefs. Best to tell them that you know the way and that you’ll guide them, then let them follow you around like lost puppies. And yeah, the money. TONS of money to be made in religion. Spirituality is too natural and Organized religion is just another form of terrorism. It’s evil. In my opinion, spirituality is awesomeness all around and everyone should have their own personal beliefs regarding it. Religion? Not so much… Honestly, most people don’t even know there’s a difference.

Spirituality, as there are no rules to this, its about being free and acknowledging peace and harmony. With religion you will never know if you choose the right one until your last day but at least with spirituality you can say you tried to be good :)

We are all spiritual, there is no need to learn about it, unless you just enjoy learning about things. All religion is humanity's attempt to learn about spirituality instead of just allowing ourselves to Be who we are - spiritual beings. There is nothing wrong with learning about spirituality (religion) as long as we don't mistake the shallow substitute (religion) for the real thing (our true spiritual nature).

Nice point you brought up.
While the Spirit gives life, and religion is dead without the Spirit, there is something to be learned from studying religion.
The distinction must be made so people know the real deal, and enough to know just which one they are trusting in.

All persons are spiritual by birth and nature. All living persons have a spirit - (coming from the Latin - breath...) To say that one is "spiritual but not religious" is to say that "I recognize I have the spark of the Divine within me, but I choose to do nothing about it." Religion is to the spirit what a language is to communication. Saying that one is spiritual but not religious is akin to saying "I like to communicate but am opposed to any formalized language." Religion is the means by which we choose to give thanks to The One who gave us breath - our Spirit.

Religion can be learned easily.
Spirituality is a way of life that comes to the pure of heart.

there is a difference between religion and spirituality. Don't forget relationships. I am not religious, I just love Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

Definately spirituallity. Religion is man made rules and regulations and rituals on how to worship God. There is freedom in Jesus Christ. Being a Christian, as far as I am concerned, is NOT a religion but a relationship with God through Jesus. It is repenting of your sin, accepting Jesus into your life, adhering to his teachings and commands of love God with your whole being and love others as yourself. It is that simple to have eternal life through Christ Jesus. Being a true Christian is a very spiritual experience.

I'd prefer spirituality, as it's personal, as opposed to religion, which is a group thing and has WAY too much dogma and nonsense ritual for my taste. *does Jesus hands*
