Is it possible that these creatures were real creatures that actually became extinct and thats why we believe they were mythical. Lets say like dragons - how do we know that the bones that we say are dinosaurs arent really the dragons we hear about in myths?

Jesus was not a fictional charecter. There are too many people who saw him and saw his miracles for him not to have existed. There are records of his existance and records of his crucifixion. Whether you believe he was a regular human, a prophet, or a messiah is your choice. But do not say that he never lived - that much can be proven.

Since there is nothing with a date on it to compare your "radioactive dating" to, there is no way to say that the way scientists measure how old those fossils are is accurate ... that is a theory I do not believe can be proven.

Strange that you mention fossils. There seems to be very good reason to believe that myths were often based on fossils, for example mammoth skulls have a hole in the center of their skull and if viewed from the front it would appear to be a large, single eyed, misshapen human skull, can you say cyclopes? Many ancient greek towns have mammoth leg bones buried as hero bones - the leg bones appear to be large human bones and the Greeks believe heroes to be large humans.

So yes, it is likely that fossils contributed to myths, on the other hand humans and dinosaurs did not coexist, so accounts of dragons are not based on living dinosaurs.

Radioactive dating. Dinosaur bones are 60-230 million years old. Dinosaurs and humans did not inhabit Earth at the same time.
