Its not really a 'choice' per-say, but rather, something that is expected, especially in devout Christian Fundamentalism. The pressure to conform to the Christian way-of-life, eg. modest wife, 2 children etc. and the denial of sex before marriage by the Christian Community, makes the individual rush into marriage and, like my parents in particular (strict Catholics), live a loveless, lifeless existance, but cannot divorce, because its a 'sin'. My advice, don't be forced into doing things you don't feel comfortable doing, especially in matters of the heart.

At the risk of sounding cynical;
When their biological clock starts ticking.
*edit*: Why are so many people ("Christians" presumably) offended by this question? The term "asexual" is perfectly acceptable to describe a virgin. See the dictionary definition - definition 2 (link below)

Are we assuming that someone who prefers to keep his/her virginity until they meet "THE" person they want to spend the rest of their lives with, is therefore "asexual"??
Because I'm not sure I quite understand what you are saying, but it sounds very much as if you think that in order to be "sexual" a person needs to be hopping in and out of bed with someone on a fairly regular basis, whether they care for the person or not...
Naughty!!

Christians are not asexuals. God made us sexual human beings but we make a chose to save something so special and sacrit for someone that we chose to spend the rest of our lives with. And when you find that person the decision is never hard to committ to them. I said it before and I'll say it again 5 o'clock - what happened to you to set you so against Christianity? You seemed obsessed with doing whatever you can to conribute to its downfall. Honestly, what happened?
