No, Ray, please post a the verse from which you got this. I'm interested in reading it.
By the way this question is meant to compare between the Quran and bible. Isn't it true that the Quran is more tolerant than the Bible.

Kenneth G do you mind telling me what those verses are talking about? Becuase the first verse is taken out of context. It says kill the people who fight you even if they fight you in Mecca.

"In the eyes of history, religious toleration is the highest evidence of culture in a people....It was not until the Western nations broke away from their religious law that they became more tolerant, and it was only when the Muslims fell away from their religious law that they declined in tolerance and other evidences of the highest culture. Before the coming of Islam it (tolerance) had never been preached as an essential part of religion... –Marmaduke Pickthall

Quaran is equally as intollerant, but of all religions Buddhism is the most tollerant...But it isn't really a religion go figure...
BTW=here is some kill nonbeliever quotes from Quaran and Bible
Bible
Acts3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
Luke19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
Quran
Women4:89 They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them,
Women4:91 Ye will find others who desire that they should have security from you, and security from their own folk. So often as they are returned to hostility they are plunged therein. If they keep not aloof from you nor offer you peace nor hold their hands, then take them and kill them wherever ye find them. Against such We have given you clear warrant.
The scriptures from the Quaran are a bit out of context and hard to find as compared to the Bible, but there is the mention of what will happen to those who do not believe maybe a bit more in the Quran...Either way you look at it it preaches the same exact things...Earth was created in 6 days there was a flood4000 years ago and many other things hard to believe in accordance to what we know about history and science now.

I wouldn't know, there are so many books printed which are a reference to a religion or a belief someone chooses to live there life by the content in the book. I'm agnostic and I don't judge a person regardless of race, color, sexual preference or mental or physical disability or religion. I've always just been very open minded and respect all people I learnt this all on my own, not from any book.

Sure I can post verses:
47:4 Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. That (is the ordinance). And if Allah willed He could have punished them (without you) but (thus it is ordained) that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He rendereth not their actions vain.
33:60 If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbours in it but a little while. .
33:61 Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter
9:123 O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him).
There are LOTS more.

I think books are books. People can be tolerant or intolerant in many ways on many things. I'm sure every person on this planet is intolerant in some things and tolerant in others.

God is not tolerant of other gods, goddesses or idols. He specifically tells the Christians to "do not put other gods before Me." He even says "I am God and there is no other like Me." God says, "remember now thy Creator...." and God says, "For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."
Mark 13:22 Jesus said that He has told us all things before hand
"for false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. but take ye heed (listen): behold, I (Jesus) have foretold you all things."
Jesus said, I told you before they happen what is going to happen. God gave many bigoted answers, because He is God and He can and there is nothing we can do about it.
The god of the Quran and the God of the Holy Bible are two different entities.
I believe in the One true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob whose Son is Jesus the Christ my Lord and Savior.

No. The Quran and the Bible are actually equal in tolerance to the perpetuation of other religions. While both bost a "one true God", Jesus taught of love and compassion towards all people, but not to stray from His path no matter who they are. Muhammad taught that Allah would destroy in the fires of his damnation the infidels and unbelievers, the ones that refused his "salvation". Islamic Jihadists take this command to an extreme, believeing they should take it upon themselves to give this wrath.

Of course it is. The O.T in the Bible talks about killing women, children and burning down entire villages. It talks about rape and about pulling down trees and hurting plants and animals. We Muslims are told not to commit any of those things by God in the Quran, and of course those evil, lustful and sexist parts of the bible do not come from the Lord, but from the corruption that came from men that changed the word of God in the bible.
[4:94] O you who believe, if you strike in the cause of GOD, you shall be absolutely sure. Do not say to one who offers you peace, "You are not a believer," seeking the spoils of this world. For GOD possesses infinite spoils. Remember that you used to be like them, and GOD blessed you. Therefore, you shall be absolutely sure (before you strike). GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.
