Mark Martin/Aric Almirola will finish about 20th in owner points. Almirola's strong suit is RP tracks typically, so I can see him getting 3 or 4 top 10s next season, but he won't win RotY since he's running part time.
Martin Truex, Jr. will make the chase, and I believe he will be ready to compete for the championship next year. But, hey, 2007 ain't over yet and we're coming up on some of Martin's best tracks.
Paul Menard is NOT a no-talent hack like many people may think. Anyone that can post 40 something top 10 finishes and a win in the Busch series over roughly 120 starts is called a slow learner, not a talentless hack that bought his way in. He has done about as good in that 14/15 car as Sterling Marlin would have done, if not slightly better. I think he may have made the top 35 at this point if he had not bought the 14's owner points (I'll have to check stats). Next year Menard will be one of the breakout stories of the year, and he will finish top 20 in points with at least 8 top 10s, but no wins.
Regan Smith will have a slow start to the season, but once he gets his feet wet in Nextel Cup, he'll have a strong second-half of the season just like the '06 rookies. He'll probably finished around 23rd in points with 5 or 6 top 10s, but I don't expect anything big out of him immediately, except maybe Rookie of the Year.

buckshot you got it all wrong, Paul Menard is a fantastic racer and i am asupporter of him. I think he has the talent to be where others are. Give him good racing gear and he can win races. I've watched him all year this year, qualifying and racing and he's done some good things he had the pole for a while a cpl weeks ago , so did jr and truex the whole dei was top 3 then top 5 for a while.. so dont discredit menard he's a fabulous racer. as far as dei
i say truex will be the highest pts leader out of dei, dei will be as tough as RCR with or without Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Martin Truex will be the highest finisher as far as points go, but I am not so sure DEI will have a car in the chase next season.

Truex most likely. I think DEI will be bought out by the end of next season.

Truex will still make the chase, but besides Martin, they have a few rookies that have yet to prove they are worth anything at the cup level. We have already seen that Menard can't run competitively, but he has a built in sponsor, and money talks. Maybe Mark will show these young guys how to race.

Truex and Martin will be the best drivers at DEI next year and Martin will run a partial schedule so Truex will be their top driver. I expect him to be in the Chase again next year.

The bright spot for DEI is Martin Truex.he has showed he is a ontendor even though people have wrote him off.
So next year look for DEI to be neck and neck with Richard Childress and Martin Truex in the top 5.

I know what you wanna hear, so here it goes... and I beleive this as the truth: Martin Truex Jr. is gonna crush the competition in 2008! I'll be putting a lot of money on this driver, because my buddy Tony Stewart can't keep his hands off the doughnuts.

I can tell you this they will be hurting. I am going to guess they will be one of the lower teams. The best one they have left anymore is Truex Jr. I will guess they will finish third last in teams or even worse then that. I see DEI disappearing in a few years if Jr. doesnt step up when he sees it falling apart and do something about it. I dont know what to think on that idea. In one way I dont know if he will do it but on the other hand will he really want his dads company to go under?

With Mark Martin only racing part time, so I guess Truex Jr will be their top driver who by the way will still finish highr in points than Earnhardt Jr
