My pup has an appointment in 20mins with our local vet. I'm just worried sick about her...I didn't sleep well either, checking on her, tossing, turning, making her comfortable....
About 4-5 days ago, she stopped eating, won't drink (have to use a dropper with pedialyte).....she is extremely needy (must be held), draws her hind legs up, (belly ache)....We have never had a boxer before. She's nearly 8weeks now. Provided her supplemental milk when she came ill, have given her rice, and she did take to it well. She's run a fever and is completely lethargic and salavating.....None of our other animals are ill. She's had her first worming. She was due to have her first shots this Saturday, since coming ill, we must postpone. Do any of these symptoms appear to be consistant with something major (parvo, bowl/intestin obstruction)? She had diarrhea for the first time yesterday. She has a metallic smell to her, like "steel." Very very worried mom. Any help??

The smell that you are explaining is the smell that we smell when there is blood in the stool. It could be parvo, could be giardia or coccidia as well. She needs to see the vet, as she could be very dehydrated at this point now. If she is running a fever, then I would be more inclined to think Parvo.

Just take her to the vets right now...you shouldn't have waited so long. The vet will have to do a test to pin point the exact reason to be able to treat it. It could be anything. Good luck and I hope your puppy is going to be okay.

Go to the vet - the symptoms you describe are too complex for the "general public" to answer. The only way to rule out major problems is to have lab work done.

just take her to the vets and if anything happens like this don't let it go more than 2 days
It does kind of sound like parvo or coccidia and I hope you haven't waited to long.

Hey, she is going to be okay babe!! I don't think its parvo, we have too many other animals that aren't affected....they will run blood tests, give her an IV and she will have some meds maybe to be brought home, and then be feeling good as new!!
